Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
I have been interested in getting one of these intakes for a couple of years now. I gotta make sure that I can afford it then I will call and talk to Ken to see if I can still get a discount. I know it's a little late but it never hurts to ask.
It's going into an 86 Iroc. The motor is from an 88 Blazer. It is a 355 with the fast burn heads and a mild cam. I don't know the exact specs on the cam... I was just wondering if I would need any other parts besides the EGR?

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
Give Ken a call, he still may be open to group purchase discount. I think besides a different style egr valve, you will need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Ken gave me two types that he likes to use. Only remember the below one. Would be good to have adjustable regulator since you are increasing air flow.

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
Have any of you completed install of your FFI units? I was going to purchase but got into a court battle. Once it's over I want to get an FFI. Any comments on before vs. after performance?

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
Still polishing intake. Aftermarket TPI systems like TPIS or A&M seem to yield around 20-30hp increase on stock engine. FIRST would be similar but has greater potential for more power as you add upgrades. Check out these posts for some idea.

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
The only thing that's stopping me from buying is the throttle body that comes with the FFI.
I was thinking that a plenum can be removed from being tooled before the front is drilled and tapped. This way I can drill for the standard twin throttle body design. Plus the FFI should be cheaper without their mono throttle body.

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
The front of the plenum is physically larger than the twin blade stock TB and it will not mate to the plenum without casting it differently. An adapter would be necessary.

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
I meant leaving the wall in place. I'd have to drill for the bolts and the twin 52mm throttle blades. As long as the plenum is wide enough it shouldn't be a problem.

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
Ken does not make a TB spacer.
I'm 99% positive that the plenum is not cast with a solid face.
Honestly there is nothing wrong with the provided TB

Re: FIRST Fuel Injection TPI
Contact Ken with the email on the website. He can get you the brackets needed for the TPS/EGR block off/Throttle Cable/anything else.
When I got mine I had to order basically everything associated with it. I just got a bare intake without bolts/gaskets/ext. Even had one of the bare throttle bodys that I had to send him so it could get built.

Is this group discount currently happening? I know this topic is an old one.
