want some advice
ok... i just found a car... its an 84 Z28
it appears to have a 350 with highrise edelbrock intake and a holley 4bbl...
now the rpo code says LG4 which i know is the 305... it really doesn't look like a 305 but i'm not sure...
so... what i'm asking is... is there anything i should look for specifically with the 84 Z... are there any problems i should look for... or just any advice at all... thanks in advance

First of all you can't tell from the outside if its a 350 or a 305, they are identical sizes. Have to check casting numbers, but chances are its the original LG4.
About looking for stuff just the usual. Very important: Check for Rust everywhere! Check in the welds, under the carpets, in any unaccessible places. I might have to get rid of my car even though I finally got it to run becasue of rust. Second take it for a nice long test-drive. Try it at half-throttle, WOT, etc... Make sure the engine is cold when you start it, the seeler might be trying to hide problems by warming the car for you.
Other then that good luck with your Z.

go check on the v6 board, there's a great post on checking over a used car. It's posted from a guy named "amateurcarguy" or something like that. It has over 30 posts.
