Re: Little history 8p
My car is going to be pretty well all custom. So in the picture book of "the build" I'm going to add this in there to show "what it used to be" lol do you have any pics of build sheets? I've never seen any before.

Re: Little history 8p
What are you referring to when using 8p? You said "Little history 8p" and also "from the factory for the car 8p". ?????
I'm assuming that the 8) is supposed to be a smiley????

Here is a build sheet from an 89 Iroc that was listed in the classifieds here at TGO about five years ago. Don't know if the layout changed for the later cars or not.

He showed the trim sheet, not a build sheet. The build sheet that you have for 1989 is the official build sheet for that car. That car also had a trim sheet somewhere that specified the trim details for the car being built. The build sheet carries more weight than a trim sheet, but all of it carries importance in documenting a cars original build.

I didn't even see that he asked for the build sheet. My mistake. Thanks for pointing that out. Here's one from a '92 Z28.

Re: Little history 8p
damn! i've been trying to look for both the trim and the build sheets off of my GTA for awhile and unfortunately to no avail! I've pratically torn the whole interior of my gta from the door panels to the carpet and no such luck. I've serached around here and read that some cars were hit and miss, but then again i see here there is one from a convertible! especially into the 90s is something! Perhaps my uncle's GTA convertible may have a sheet or two! I would like to do some treasure hunting on his car, but i doubt he'll let me touch it, especially it's only got 30k on it (i think)...sigh!
I saw a GTA on ebay a few months ago that was for sale and it came with a build sheet! When i asked him where he found it on his car (he was the original owner) he told me the dealership practically just gave it to him for "record" purposes! How's intriguing is that? It was already out of the car!

Re: Little history 8p
Mine was given to me in an information packet from the original owner. While many have been hidden in the car as it went down the assembly line, many were also thrown away by the line worker, so I've heard. I believe the reality is that the build sheet was probably tossed inside the car as it finished the build and the dealer tossed them when the PDI the car. Many people don't even have their window sticker because when the car is bought, the plastic is removed from door panels, seats, steering wheels, etc, and the loose tags are removed and the car is cleaned and ready for delivery. Most dealers try to upsell fabric protection, so they would completely remove all plastic and paper from the interior before applying this. When the owner came to get the car, it was washed, vacuumed, windows cleaned and ready to drive away. Unless the owner specifically asked for the window sticker, I've seen them scraped off and tossed by the dealer. Imagine what happened to all papers and plastic inside the car!!
