Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

This 1984 Berlinetta is relatively low mileage and in good original shape. I got a kick looking at the pix, I had forgotten all about that weird radio set up they had.

That thing is extremely nice. Short of being a manual I think the car is optioned perfectly. Unfortunately non ground effect cars have a very small following, id be willing to bet the car does not go for more than four figures as unfortunate as that sounds.

I agree, I think that was the same one listed for $2300 this last summer and didn't sell. It's on CL now for $3800.

Re: Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

It's cool, because it's weird. Love the green speedo and radio pod.

Would be tough to find someone to buy it though. Cars need a consistant theme. A buyer for a sporty, small, uncomfortable car expects a minimal level of performance as a trade-off. The 107 hp offered by a carbed V6 isn't gonna cut it. At least if it had a T top I could see someone going for this, but as it is the market will be very narrow.

Nice time capsule but an example of a type of car that no longer exists - the personal luxury pony car. GM killed it after '87 and it's been in the ground since. So it's value isn't going to be high unfortunately.

Re: Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

Too bad...
For $3000 some young 17 year old kid will probably get it and its "cream puff" status will be a memory..

If it was a Firebird S/E of the same vintage, I'd seriously consider it

Yea at that price level someone young dumb and full of you know what will likely ride it hard and put it away wet. I'm talking force fitting a 5.3 liter out of a trashed '03 1500 pick up and an unholy beat down over a few months until it ends up shiny side down in a ditch somewhere. That's often the unfortunate fate of cars without a lot of value.

Re: Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

I didn't even consider those potential issues with the low price. I sure hope a kid doesn't buy it and trash it, or at least if they do the demise does not show up on this site. The only positive is a 30 year old 20 second car is not really on every first drivers radar. Most are after mustangs, fourth gens, and imports.

Re: Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

That's just crazy. A car that nice should have definitely done a little better, I guess it just goes to show that if the car is not a z28 or iroc then no one is really interested in it. The color combo may have also had a role. I had basically the exact same car save for a few options and the brown interior was pretty unappealing when paired with the tan exterior.

Re: Nice 1984 Camaro Berlinetta On Ebay

Yea, it was pretty "Plain Jane" but had it's own interesting features, in damn good shape for it's age, and part of the 3rd family. I think at that price, somebody got a real deal.
