Short GM Authority Article, Time is now to by 3rd Gens
Hopefully this is not a duplicate thread. I did a search and didn't see anything (am on my phone right now though using mobile app).
A lot of our cars are being parted out and modified so it reduces the number of original equipment cars still on the road. I believe we are still another 10 years or more away but I can see a small creep in prices upward.

Those door bumpers are HIDEOUS. Not sure how they protect the car from other cars. They only protect you from hitting another car.
While thirdgens will one day appreciate, I don't think it will be to the same degree.

Can we stop all of the threads regarding the value of these cars? It's getting old that every other post is mentioning why they are valuable, why they aren't valuable, when will they be valuable?, etc. If you have the car now, enjoy it for what it is or what you want it to be. If you don't have one now, consider getting one because nobody knows if the value will get to the point where they aren't affordable, or if they will maintain their current values. Just get one now and enjoy it!

If I remember correctly those were the bumpers that were part of the shipping components - like the plastic on the seats and floors. Possibly the seller is trying to present the car in "as shipped" condition.
Now IS the time to find & buy low mileage, low production 3rd gens. Prices will rise.

"parked for 14 years where it continues to live out its days under sunny California weather"
Uh, very bad thing to mention when selling a car. Who wants a car that has been sun rotted and destroyed with UV. Not saying this one really has, but that's a dumb and misleading statement that could easily loose buyers for the car buying sight unseen.
...and yeah, I agree, these value threads are getting kinda old :/

The question I have about the article car is;
If this car "only" has 68,000 miles and has sat for 14 years, why on earth would the engine need a "complete overhaul" ???
I've got a fleet of cars in my yard and every one has between 106,000 to 236,000 except my show truck (avatar) with 66,000 and none have ever been apart.....
