So I was referencing RPO codes and I noticed that in 92 they made a bit over 8000 purple haze camaros. According to the Chevy production numbers there were only a bit over 3,000 total 92 camaro with a 305. Wonder how many of those were purple haze??? I keep reading that its a rare color but would any of you guys care to throw in an opinion?
Well when you mention 305s are you talking about the TPI engine or the throttle body injection engine or both?
I have a 92 Z28 with a TPI 305 and a 5 speed. I once figured out that based on production numbers, there might be about 100 with that combination (on average) but if you add in the TBI engines, that changes. Can't say I have seen another one in person. At Camaro Nationals this year, people were stopping me and asking about it because they had not seen one before.
And it looks good in front of my purple garage door...... It was easier to buy since my wife's favorite color is purple....
So I inherited a purple haze camero.it is a 305 car with the T tops rs. Mom passed away in April and as soon as I saw the car I knew I had to re paint it. Currently in the body shop now should get her back home in a few weeks ! Day I got it home They found no rust at all on the car ! Jist a few dings cant wait to see it all done.
