Hah. Yugo's are a muscle car...lol. I kind of agree with her. When I hear the term "Muscle car" I picture a Chevelle or a Judge, or a mopar 440. Not a f-body 3rd gen. How ever, I didn't grow up in that era. So, can a f-body be a muscle car? Sure, why not. But IMO, When I hear someone say Muscle car, I think of late 60's early 70's full framed, American made, heavy steel cars burning leaded gas!

I remember reading this on msn homepage a nights ago. I was kind of shocked going through the list. I think they saw our cars as still affordable because there's still to many of them out there, but the high values they gave our cars is close to where its at for a nice original or depending on the model preference by the buyer.

Re: Top Ten Muscle Cars in Popular Mechanics
I think "pony car" is somewhat specific. Not black and white, but almost defineable. Smaller, sporty 4 pass two door...etc. etc., back in a time when there WASN'T a car like that .....musclecar however is TOTALLY objective. It means different things to different people. No hard definition. I think most people consider it a 60s era big motor go straight car! ....and the pony cars of the era most certainly fit that description. You had 4 door family cars, "pony" cars, 2 seat vette's, COPOs, drag pack cars, "super" bird which were all but stock cars.....and "most" people would consider them ALL muscle cars.

I had bought a Chrysler Laser Turbo in 84 () 2.2L turbo 5 speed, talk about torque steer.
That relationship lasted 8 months.

Re: Top Ten Muscle Cars in Popular Mechanics
Shortly after I picked up my 87 IROC, one of the tech's in the office who up until that time had the "coolest" car (an 86 Dodge Daytona Turbo) challenged me to a race at lunchtime - I looked at his car & at him & said - Sure!
What a disappointing afternoon at work that was for him!

Chrysler would put a 2.2 turbo in anything they could back in the day. There are first generation dodge caravans running around with them and 5 speeds to boot.

I remember the little dodge hatchback "Omnis" I think.. They would run with or outrun almost anything around stock in those days. It was an ugly lil thing of a car though. I raced one of those Shelby Daytonas once with my modded 87 Firebird Lg4 and took some $ from the guy. The Omni on the other hand I did not try.

My brother had a GLH turbo back in the 80's. It was way to powerful for the chassis, quite a handful. One fast POS.
