You say its an '83, but it has an '84+ interior, complete with the digi dash. I had an '83 Berlinetta back in the late 80's; it was my first car. Looked just like that on the outside, but totally different interior. Even the horrendous white walled tires (first thing to be changed).

I'd leave it looking as is, but dump the engine for a LSx...maybe a turbo too.
