Rcvd my '83 invoice
I ordered my invoice from the GM heritage center, does anyone see anything interesting? Seems like a standard sport coupe.
I did have one question about my radio antenna. My antenna is on the passenger side rear quarter panel. There is no hole on the passenger front panel. My father seems to remember it not coming with a radio, and the dealer installing it, hence the non-standard antenna location. Does this seem plausible in light of this invoice?

Re: Rcvd my '83 invoice
It would seem possible. Not too many cars with radio delete... I am not sure if they came with an Antenna or not. I do know that some of the export cars and I think some of the Berlinettas and possibly some Firebird S/E's thru 1986 came with a windshield antenna, and thus no mast. When I repainted my car I really considered removing my mast hole and then going with a windshield mounted antenna from a Berlinetta or S/E
If they were to install an Antenna, I would have thought it would have been easier in the passenger fender than in the rear quarter... Shorter wire, less things to remove... But anything is possible.

I didn't see any radio options on the build sheet, but I also didn't see any indication of "radio delete". Who knows...

Yup my 1985 has RPO Code for radio delete, and I have a mast on he PASSANGER side. I want to make it back to stock, but the wife said no radio no ride...I will miss her lol

Radio delete cars still came with an antenna and four speakers plus harness. My car is set up this way.

That was separate option, a radio accommodation package was also available as RPO UN9 if a buyer chose radio delete and chose to install his own radio.

I have the build sheet and it doesn't seem to list anything about a radio, either deleted or installed... It's seems interesting.

Re: Rcvd my '83 invoice
One of my DT500 Build Sheets showing the Radio "UU6 STERO ETR CAS" with the Radio Accommodation Package UP8 "UN9 PROVI STE" and the power antenna "U75 POWER Antenna".
UU6 : RADIO, AM/FM STEREO, SEEK/SCAN AUTO REV CASS
UP8 : STEREO RADIO INSTALLMENT PROVISIONS, DUAL FRT & RR SPEAKERS
UP9 : RADIO PROVISIONS, FOR STEREO INSTRUMENTATION
U75 : ANTENNA, POWER, RADIO
It looks like UP8 included the front and rear speakers along with the wiring.
So it looks like your 1983 Camaro Sport would have not had any radio, speakers, wiring or antenna installed at the factory from what is shown on your build sheet.

Thanks, I think that about settles it. Too bad that doesn't make it worth more!

Re: Rcvd my '83 invoice
Very rarely does a delete option make something worth more in automobile land... Occasionally it does happen, but for the most part people like options, the more options the better the options etc.. The only exception to this is purpose built Race cars or similar.
