Re: WINDSHIELD DECAL
It was part of the Indy pace car decal package in 82. And it's listed with a GM part number in the accessory catalog. I'm not sure that you could really call that an "option". You had the option of purchasing the decals from GM, or your dealer, but I haven't seen anything suggesting it could be ordered or deleted on the car new.

I wish I could find someone making a cheaper version than the $79 for the front (AND REAR) of the Pace car decal reproductions.
Anyone have a source ?
eBay options all seem to have the wrong font

Re: WINDSHIELD DECAL
How much cheaper can you get than $79? If you go any cheaper, you're gonna get vinyl that peels, discolors, etc and will last only 2 years. You're getting two decals for $79! This is why we have such a hard time getting things made us 3rd genners. Nobody is willing to spend any money on their cars.
I had one on my car when I first got the car.

I've spent PLENTY on my car thanks
Maybe they offer just the front for $40 ? (so I'm not paying double for the rear which I don't want), that way I'm only paying for about 10 yards of 3m 7 year vinyl for one decal.

For those of us that spend 4, sometimes 5, digits on our cars, $80 is cheap. Especially for the little things that set your car apart from the one sitting next to it at the local car show or cruise night. Take a pic of that decal to a local graphics shop and see what they'd get to do a one off piece. I'd forgotten about those, but the IROC will have one on for the show season next year

Re: WINDSHIELD DECAL
*sigh* Scott is right, third genners are never going to be taken seriously until they stop complaining about the prices of parts. When we are willing to spend on our cars, there is no reason to actually make replacement parts. I would make replacement Acrylic T-top panes but no one want's to pay what I would have to invest and charge for a set, so I dropped the idea.

Re: WINDSHIELD DECAL
Mine has a red, "IROC-Z" windshield decal. I don't know if it's stock, part of an option (RPO or dealer installed) or and aftermarket add-on.
These days, I'm just happy to find parts for these cars. Pretty much "price be damned" is my motto.

Re: WINDSHIELD DECAL
I do graphics for a living. ...and of course I have the proper font for the thirdgen "CAMARO" if anyone needs the file. It's solid, not outlined, although it's easy to change. It's also not sized to anything other than what I wanted. I did it in matte black. Hard to see from the pic, but that's the point.
....as for price...and paying for vinyl...spend a career learning a trade, then buy equipment, pay taxes, payroll, etc. etc. and tell me again what the cost of making the decal is. I understand shopping for the best price. I do NOT understand not wanting to pay a fair price for good materials and quality work. You said yourself the ebay versions are either crap vinyl or the wrong font.
