Sweet!
And another 2500 miles to go before it needs it's first oil change.

Absolutely beautiful car!!!! And I do agree with his comments, the pristine 3rd gens may hold their value or even might rise a bit. It all comes full circle, look at the path the second gens made, the pristine ones.

Re: 400 mile, as NEW 1989 GTA from an acquaintance's collection:
What an amazing collection of cars, all are still brand new and prove that even though they are 20-30 year old cars their profile's stand the test of time, they still have beautiful lines even today. Now I will not knock any of todays rides, the tech, power, and just plain quality is in a totally different class today. But, and this is just me talking, as much as I love todays sports cars, for some reason I see alot of overlap with them. Again, just me. The lines and front ends and such have such a carryover, a Malibu and Impala and Camaro share some lines. The older cars, you knew it was an Iroc coming down the road right away. Today a Camaro drives down the road and I have to take a moment to really look at it to tell if it's a V6 RS or SS. The older cars stand out in a crowd.
Again, this is just me talking. If I were to see any of the cars in this collection sitting in a parking lot, my eyes would catch them right away before a newer Camaro, and yes, I am a car guy, so it's nothing against the newer car, I admire all cars.
I'll be totally honest, with the newer cars, I admire the lines and interior of a new Challenger over a Camaro and then Mustang.
Anyway, phenomenal collection of cars gentleman has here.

He also has this 91 B4C:
http://www.mcsmk8.com/92-B4C-CAMARO/92-B4C-CAMARO.html
I think there are more than 5 B4Cs that escaped police use, and we all know white is the best color for a third gen . But he has excellent taste in cars. If I had the means, I'd be hoarding malaise-era Cadillacs. And that BMW 840 6-speed!

Yeah I hope to have a nice collection like his one day.
That Ultra Rare Police RS is nice in Medium Quasar Blue, my neighbor has an RS T-top in the same color, looks identical except it's a real RS.
What a beauty, that car begs to be driven but you don't want to, because it's like it demands you scrub up clean and wear special surgery gloves before touching it so you don't stain it's beauty with your Nasty finger prints

Re: 400 mile, as NEW 1989 GTA from an acquaintance's collection:
The hardest thing about owning that many cars, is staying on top of them, keeping them ready to drive at a moment's notice.
This guy's neighbor, for example, just went through his car collection, adding air to over 80 tires. Then there are batteries, oil and other fluids, etc. It's a full time job.
I have another friend who, at one point, owned 220 vehicles. He had 3 people woking on them at any given time, making sure they could be driven reliably, at any time. He had enough of that, and I think is down to around 50 vehicles now.
And last week, another friend sent me a note, as he's trying to get a car from his one building, but has to move 3 others, just to get it outside...
Having one or two cool cars is one thing, but I can tell you, beyond 3 or 4, and it's a chore, for the reasons above. And if you don't have them under roof, forget about it...

I own 8 cars right now. Not all Firebirds or Camaros, and I have 4 of them sitting right now because I don't need to be driving them or I don't have the time to drive them because of busy business.
But if I needed to move them or drive them, I would obviously plan it ahead of time.
Once you get over 50 cars, it does seem too much to handle unless, you're already wealthy, and have a big warehouse of your own to house them in like Jay Leno.
Over 200 Means you're obsessed

Re: 400 mile, as NEW 1989 GTA from an acquaintance's collection:
I think its both. I am the same way with firearms. You invest in things as a hobby which slowly turns into a collection but you know that, if need be, you can sell off an item or two from that collection and not lose your shorts on it. It all comes down to what you decide to collect. Obviously, collecting lighters, pens, spoons, sneakers etc, isnt exactly going to return a profit down the road IF you needed to sell it off.
Oh and Im still drooling over these cars.

Re: 400 mile, as NEW 1989 GTA from an acquaintance's collection:
I've always told myself that once I get my house paid off, if I ever come across a less than 1,000 mile 92 GTA that I'm buying it.
But the practical side of me (must be like 1% of me haha!) says not to because I like to drive my cars, like really drive my cars. I would rather buy a fully restored car and drive it into the ground than have a car that I can only ever look at.
I very glad these exist tho as reference cars if anything for people doing restorations.

Am I the only one just a little saddened by seeing those awesome cars under glass and locked up like caged animals begging to be let loose? A truly great collection indeed, but 4 of them have less than a thousand miles. Surely at least one deserves to be taken out and do what it was built to do? Are any of them for sale, or are they all destined to spend their existence on display?

I'm not sad at all. I'm glad such pristine examples exist.
