1984 T/A bucket seat

Hello all,
I have a question on the originality on the 84 T/A I purchased last summer. My cowl plate has 60C AQ9_R
The documentation I got from PHS indicates I have B20 Luxury Trim Group and 60C8 Lear Seigler adjustable bucket pallex cloth. I guess my questions is: Is this considered a Recaro since it has the cowl RPO AQ9 R? it doesn't have the mesh headrest, leather or Recaro branding that I normally see on a Recaro bucket. Included is a pic of my seats. Many thanks as always.

AQ9 are the Lear-Siegler seats with adjustments. Not the "Recaro" seats that would be found on the Recaro Special Edition Trans Am of the same year. Your AQ9 seats are not standard but was an optional seat.

Re: 1984 T/A bucket seat

In the past, I have seen some of those Lear seats in leather installed in HIGH OPTION LOADED cars. Now THOSE are pretty rare these days !!!

A '85 L69 T/A comes to mind

Re: 1984 T/A bucket seat

I've seen leather ones in loaded Trans Ams and in S/Es.

The AQ9 code was shared between the the Lear Siegler and Recaro.

Good point. The 1984 book simply states AQ9 as Lear Siegler and no mention of it used for the Recaro. Then in 1985 when the Special Edition Recaro package was no longer available the Recaro seats was an option under AS5.
