was just curious to know how rare a white 1984 Trans Am was, with silver trim and silver decals, back when they were new. I assume it's a valid color combo, but don't know how common or how rare. I just know that I haven't seen too many. in fact, a quickie search reveals only one other one, which is likely repainted as it is missing some decals: (http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/b...I.jpg~original).

1982 is more my thing, so I can't remember all the color choices in 1984. I'm thinking about buying this car (in the attachment pic below), if it checks out. may be able to get Service Parts Identification label for checking paint codes, but currently don't have it. the wheels are not originally white and the center caps are aftermarket. the body paint is said to be a 7 out of 10 original, not repainted.

any info on this setup would be appreciated.

I had a white 84 TransAM back from 1990 to 1996. It was idential to the one you see in the picture except that it had silver wheels not white. The original owner had replaced the black trans am center caps with WS6 silver center caps because he thought they looked better. I don't remember the trim on the hood or if it had the actual small trans am bird near the bottom of the hood. Everything else was identical to the car you see. I have seen only 2 other similar white trans ams in pictures so I know it was pretty rare. I still have the orginal window sticker if you would like the VIN to that car. it was very nice when I sold it and it only had around 50 thousand miles.
