I haven't heard much lately from anyone....has everybody got their kits installed? Just curious what you guys think so far on the operation.

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
I just finally installed mine last night .
Didn't need any instructions since it was pretty simple. I like the operation of the kit.
I do however think I need to eventually replace my window motors since they aren't very quick. There was an improvement with installing the window kit but I am sure my window motors are tired.

Awesome-glad to hear! The kit helps "liven up" old, stock motors but if you also install new motors, you'll be in great shape! And with more voltage getting to them, they should last much longer too.

$109 for express down and $139 for express down and up. Prices don't include shipping.

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
This weekend, a fire was lit in me and I finally got my iroc running. Went to roll down my windows and my drivers side worked (albeit slow as death) but my passenger side doesn't respond. I haven't looked into it yet, but the point is that my convo with you last year came to mind. I am still in a for the auto-down/auto-up setup, and hope to have the cash for it within a month... basically, please don't disappear on me :-)

I only need the Standard Upgrade, no express anything... :-) Are you still making them? Standard relay upgrade $79?

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
formula1LE is building a great kit.
Keep in mind 2 things...
1) You will be disassembling your factory blue and clear switch connectors. Each has four wires, you will only use three from each in the new connector. The black wire from each will NOT be used. At least in the one touch down kits. Other than that, you simply snap the factory wire ends into the supplied new 6 pin connector so that the wire colors line up with the new harness.
2) He is 2 to 3 weeks out at the moment. So plan ahead.
Thx
Eric

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
Just received my express up/down kit form formula1LE. I have the extra length leads to go under the radio pod are. I think I'll be glad I have the extra leads as the kit is bigger than I thought. I'll post a pic later this week of the wiring next to a two liter just to give everyone an example of how big they are. Looks like good workmanship for sure. I can see why these take time to build. He also pretest each one so that is a great to know before he sends them out. Now I need to find time to install it. Summer is winding down so hopefully soon. Thanks formula1LE!

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
All members have their harnesses so I'm up to date on orders but am currently a couple weeks out as I'm building 11 other harnesses (engine, delay lighting, 2nd gen express down) for members on other boards....if anybody would like a kit, PM me with what you'd like but realize there will be at least a 2-week wait. Thank you!!

Updates on the installs? I just sent out (2) 1970-79 2nd gen express down kits and I plan to put a couple 3rd gen kits together soon if anyone is interested.

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
Interesting. I did not read every page. P&A on a relay kit for my 1979 Trans Am please. No "express up/down" needed. What is involved w/ install? Thanks 94954

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
The 2nd gen 70-79 relays kits feature an updated high capacity relay and allows the window switch to serve as a ground trigger for the relays to operate the power windows instead of supplying the voltage thru the switch. I include a new switch connector on the 2nd gen kits too-everything mounts under the console and install is easy-I supply the correct pack con connectors to bypass your OEM under dash relay and you simply cut the 5 leads under the console and with my supplied connectors, match up the color coded leads, crimp/solder my 56-series terminals on and plug together-done.

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
Got my express up/down installed today. Switching the wire was easy but installing it was a pita. Trying to get most of the modules and relays up in the radio pod area took some time. I didn’t want to put any wiring under the switch area where there was more room (would of been a lot easier) because I plan to install the single cup holder in the console. Cup holder would take up a lot of that space. These work great. So much nicer than holding the switch. My windows take between 5 and 6 seconds to open/close and not holding the switch any more is awesome. Thanks formula1LE for designing this.

Re: power window relay kit EASY to install!
Awesome! I'm glad it worked out for you-the install for the version with the extended harness to reach behind the radio pod is a bit tougher than simply placing it in the console under the shiftplate but in the end-as long as the auto down/up works as intended...that's all that matters!
