Taking out the back seats

I want to take out the back seats and put basically a wooden bench instead. Any tips on doing this? My friends mustang has it done but he didn't do it the person he bought the car from did.

Re: Taking out the back seats

taking them out is simple...one bolt underneath each bottom cusion in the middle...just stick your head down there you'll see it...once those are out...look underneath on the ends where the hinges are on the seat back...you'll see another nut...can't remember the size of either for the life of me, i think 14mm ish...somewhere around there, anywhere from 12-14mm...as far as wooden benches what are you refering to??? One solid wooden bottom, or replacing the seat bottoms with wooden bottoms? If you do a search on this website of "rear seat delete" or something of that sort you will find a lot of information on what i believe you are referring to.

Re: Taking out the back seats

yea thats a newer generation mustang if i'm not mistaken and doing that is easier if we had the trunk...unless your just talkinga bout the seat bottom...there is a kit on ebay made for the fourth gen camaros/firebirds...i'm hearing they are about 1/2" less wide than the 3rd gen, but will bolt right in. here is a link. Otherwise do a search on this website. Many people have talked about the rear seat delete before and you will find tons of information and things that people have done from subwoofer enclosures to storage compartments like in the picture, to just plane blocking it off and making it look presentable. I searched ebay really quick and coudln't find what i know was on there a while ago. Here is a way to get exactly what your looking for...above you will see the word Search on the same blue bar as User CP...click that a little pulldown screen pops up and in the bottom bar where it says : Search Forums....copy and paste this in there:

+Rear +seat +delete

the information you will find is exactly what i think your looking for...while we don't have as much of a bench seat as the mustangs, you can pretty much create whatever you want/need, but this will definally get you on your way. Good luck!
