Autometer makes a unit to convert a older cable driven speedo/tranny combo to all electric for use with their electic speedos. You would have to find out the pulse rate of the Trans Ams speedo and see if it matches up to the unit Autometer sells. I am sure Autometer can calibrate their aftermarket module to any pulse rate they want and can match whatever is needed to make your Bird's speedo preform right.

Did you find out what the pulse rate is for your T/A yet? It might be a simple way of getting Autometers pulse rate converted over to the T/As. If not you might have to go with an Autometer electric speedo if you want to keep the TH 350. Another option is to upgrade to a 4L60E tranny in place of the 350 guy.

Re: speedo electric to manual

How do you find out the pulse rate. Also how hard is it to change to autometer gauges.

I'm not sure of the size of the Bird's stock speedo bit it should be 3 3/8". Autometer makes there electric speedos in that size and 5" also. Do a search here in the Forum about aftermarket gauges and the install. I am using the Classic Chevy (Covan) aftermarket setup for mine. I just bought the blank setup allready drilled out and will put in my own C2 full sweep guys.
