short in courtesy module

I am blowing 20 amp fuses from the main fuse panel on the Acc port. What are the first things that I can check?

Re: short in courtesy module

To be more specific, car is 1986 Camaro iroc z; been sitting for 11 years and I am not only restoring it, but building a 350 full race engine with twin turbos for it. My short is obviously in the circuitry for the courtesy module. Not sure whether problem is in wiring for cig lighter, interior lights, alarms for lights on, door open, etc. but I am asking for advise as to where to start first.

Re: short in courtesy module

It's possible the power outlet in the center console is shorting out. The terminals often become corroded and then cause the fuse to blow. Unplug the connectors and see if the fuse sill blows out.

Re: short in courtesy module

Is it blowing them as soon as you put them in or does it take a while?
