NEW HEADLINER

After owning this car for over 10 years and looking at the
bare roof I finally found a good deal on one of those fuzz
over plastic aftermarket headliners!
Only $118 bucks and shipping was around $30...........

Got it laying out to get it stretched out............

My interior is faded stock grey and black tiger stripe.
Plastics are faded grey. But NO rips or tears anywhere.
This car spent its life in sunny N. Carolina till I got it.
So its gotta sunburn!

More pics to follow............

Re: NEW HEADLINER

Got the liner inside the car and lined up.
Those shoulder belt plastic headliner filler clips have thrown up for a loop.
Various headliner install videos blow right over what to do to re-install
them into the new headliner.
(Of course there are NO detailed installation instructions.)

Most pics were lost:

This is the piece I'm talking about:

This is what it looks like new:

Note that this piece clips into the shoulder belt retractor.
There is a pre-cut hole in the plastic headliner backing for the nose of the retractor
stick thru the face and that "piece" clips onto it.
The "wing" on that piece covers the cut line in the headliner and the end hides
behind the speaker cover.

This is my bare roof:

Re: NEW HEADLINER

Now that I know how those fillers in the shoulder belt figured out
so now I can continue installation!

Got it in place and have it adjusted for fit.
Have the sunvisors fitted.

visors look pretty shabby!

Using the handy snowbroom to hold it up and in place
(you prob. only thought they were handy only in winter eh?

Will finish tomorrow..............

Re: NEW HEADLINER

Still lacking the headliner shoulder belt "split" finish.
The tabs off the filler clip are broken so gonna have to glue (fuser)
them in place.

That potato chip clip will hold that piece outta the way.

Don't wanna do the finish till the headliner settles in place and needs no
adjustments.
