PSA About Aftermarket Racing Seats
Just wanted to share this with everyone so they can hopefully avoid similar situations.
I was recently in a small accident with my thirdgen in which I lost control of the vehicle on the highway during some slight rain. I thankfully avoided hitting anyone else or any large structures but I did go off the road and back on. Due to the small amount of force from bouncing around and spinning my passenger seat was bent in a more reclined position, and my drivers seat metal supports inside the seat completely snapped, rendering the seat useless and causing me a little back issues.
Moral of the story is, don't be a cheap kid like I was years ago when I bought these ebay seats for $150 each. It's worth it to pay for a far superior seat that could be the difference between life or death in a bad accident.
Drive safe and keep the thirdgens alive!

I will try to get a picture of the passenger seat, the drivers seat is long gone. It was a run of the mill Ebay seat, no actual brand on it

Re: PSA About Aftermarket Racing Seats
I fully agree... I have ebay red/black "race" seats in mine, and years ago before the roll cage went in, I was testing the car on a back road. Stopped, and launched the car and the driver seat back broke at the adjustment point. I was laying back looking up through the T top.
I got the car back home and welded the seat back together in the position I liked, then about 8 mo. later added a 10 pt cage. Still using those same seats but with the cage's seat cross bar, I don't have to worry about that happening again
