ABS Headliner sagging. Remedies needed.

ABS Headliner sagging. Remedies needed.
I've had a hard top 89 Iroc for around two years now and within the last 6 months or so I've installed an ABS backed headliner into the car as the old one was shot. However, despite having let the headliner set out to take its proper shape from being folded in its shipping box, I still have a very unsightly sag in the middle just above the rear view mirror. The description on HawksMotorSports.com said it was sturdy enough to not need clips or any support in the middle but with mine that seems to not be the case. If anyone has any suggestions on how to get the sag out of the headliner it would be much appreciated as it has become a huge eyesore. I searched for similar forums as well but the only ones I found were for installation and were not helpful as far as the sagging was concerned.

Good luck.

Thank you all for the responses. I had not thought of the velcro. I did consider using one of the clips for the original headliner and using some ....I think it was called E6000 maybe...glue which ii've seen hold heavy crafts together in the heat of summer. The velcro idea might be quite a bit better and easier though.

I have use a couple of well placed trim screws with the fitted washers
in a few places. My car has t-tops and with the tops off the ABS
headliner shook and bowed pretty good while driving.
The trim screws are mostly hidden by the visors and inside the dome light
and the rear trim panel.
They are chrome so they hide pretty well.
They hold it in place pretty firmly..............

I don't know about using the trim screws as I'd rather not put any holes in the headliner but I'll definitely look into it if nothing else works. If anyone can tell me where some really good industrial velcro strips with strong industrial adhesive would be sold at I'd very much appreciate that as well.

I know Home Depot sells it.So I would assume any building supply co. or hardware store would sell it also.

Thank you. I suppose if nothing else I can check there and if that's not good enough I'll use some of the E6000 craft glue i mentioned to put on the velcro strips before putting them in. Should work decent that way. Thanks for the help everyone.

No, that is 2 different sides....
You want the same plastic lock on both sides, like this...
