Overhead console flashlight

After reworking my 86 iroc headliner I replaced all the burnt out bulbs and the console and map light work, however the removable flashlight I can't get working after replacing batteries so I have to believe it's the bulb but when trying to remove it broke into pcs. It's not a standard bulb but more of a magnifying bulb, anyone have any idea where to find a part # or the bulb ? I don't think this thing has ever been used and it's in great condition.

Re: Overhead console flashlight

Its just a standard old school flashlight bulb w/ a threaded socket.Electronic stores are your best bet or online. 1A3 NORELCO 222 are the numbers on mine.

I'm sure you can get these at a local Pep Boys or Hardware.

Same here !

Many times when I thought the bulb was dead, but it was just crud on the terminals that was not allowing voltage to flow. The best way I've found to clean all the little contacts inside these things is to pull them all out of the flashlight and drop them into a cup that's got Klean-Strip RUST Remover in it. Just enough chemical to completely cover the contacts. ( & NOT a plastic cup !! ) Leave then in their overnight and then pull them out and dry them off. The contacts can be totally covered in crud when you start, but they will come out looking almost new. A quick wire brush before re-installing them and Wa-La; A working flashlight again !

Wish i still had picture, but I can't seem to find it.
