LT1 A/C Lines
Granted its 5 years too late, but I finally have a line on custom A/C lines. I just got the lines the other day but the engine is still out of the car. I should have it back in around Thursday or Friday and I'll take photos of the setup.
I'm also using this hose block from AC Source.
I'm also going to take a look at the powersteering lines and possibly offer a complete kit that would have the A/C lines, hose block, and powersteering lines ready to go. I'll update when I have the engine back in the car.

This could help a lot of people with their swap. I just wanted to let you know that that block can also be bought at NAPA. I remember seeing it in their catalog.

Now I find that out. Oh well, I'll run down to NAPA sometime and see how much theirs is. Thanks for the heads up.

You will have to get someone to look it up in the illustrated parts catalog. They can get any variety of hose block that AC source can. O'Rielly's can also get them and the fittings needed to make the hoses. The only problem might be getting someone to forsake a computer and actually look it up in a book.

ok so my original idea didn't work out so well. The #2 spark plug would be permanent short of disconnecting the a/c. However, I found some new line fittings and a different hose block that I think will work out much better. I'm going to wait till I get the engine in the car though to try it out, no point in doing it on the stand. I'll get some photos once its all finished up.

When I worked at NAPA I ordered one of the blocks to look at. It fit the compressor perfectly. The one I ordered was aluminum and had a perfect mounting surface for the F body compressor. Maybe the part is no longer availible.

could be that or the guy just didn't look in the right catalog. I flipped through it while I was there and didn't see anything like what I had in my hand *shrug*

There isn't a NAPA near here( I am at school) so I will try to go to O'Reilly's and look in their catalog. I will get a part number for you to check.

Apparently the part is no longer availible from O'Reilly's. The one ACsource offers is for the O ring type, ours uses the big sealing washers. I only bring this up because of possible leaks. I fought with my A/C for two years before deciding to go with Corvette accessories. I tried finding lines in a junk yard, I tried the carquest adaptor, and I tried to find other compressors that would give better clearance. I hope you have better luck than I did.

right, it was the only one they had with the outlets pointing up, but now that I'm switching to the outlets pointing out the back, I'll get the sealing washer one.

How are you going to get lines to work going out the back? The motor mount and the headers are both in the way. I am curious as to what you are planning.

its been put on hold until I get everything else finished up first. So far its just been one thing after another. First it was a wicked vibration at 70 mph. Driveshaft rebalance took care of that. Then it was running like crap and the left O2 wasn't working. Not sure what we did but that works now. This weekend the trans decided it wanted to get stuck in reverse while the shifter was in neutral. New snap ring on the 5th/6th/reverse rail fixed that.
Now that it seems to be running decent I'll do some fine tuning of the program and get it running good. After the New Year I should have the a/c lines finished up. I'll post all of the information and plenty of photos when I do as well.

I have the same problem with the driveshaft. I haven't had a chance to get it balanced since it is my only means of transportation. I look forward to the pics. I am going to modify V6 A/C lines with an adapter similiar to the Carquest one except straight instead of the 90 degree bends.I will try to get a pic when it is finished.

of course not. The car sat in the shop for about 2 months because I was tired of screwing with it. Now that I've finally got it running good and its warming up I'll finally get it all hooked up. I've already got the new hose block, I still have to do some work on the lines. I'm not going to say when I'll have it finished as thats obviously never worked for me, but rest assured I'll post all the photos and information here once its completed and working.
