I have a racetronix hotwire kit and was wonder how it gets properly hooked up. I know the one wire goes to the alternator but was wondering do I use the stock plug for the tank still that goes thru the body on the hump for the tank
Thanks

Re: Racetronix Hotwire kit question
So what is supplied thru the stock connector? Is it like a stock 3rd gen tank 1 power ( 12V switched ) , 1 ground and 1 sender line?? Just tryin to figure out if im suppose to leave it the way that it was before or am I suppose to eliminate the 1 wire with the 12V switched. I assume not as it will trigger th relay to turn on so the pump doesnt run all the time when its off. Just want to make sure tho

Re: Racetronix Hotwire kit question
Picture of HOT WIRE kit with labels is attached. It's not completely plug and play. You'll have to do a bit of wiring to make it work with your car. I haven't done the mod yet but I think I understand how to do it.
One plug snaps into the connector at the 4th gen fuel pump bulkhead (can't screw it up... only one fits). The other plug is intended to snap into the factory 4th gen harness, but you don't have a factory 4th gen harness.
That "other" plug has wires for two functions: 2 wires operate the fuel pump relay, and 2 wires are the input and ground for the fuel sender. You'll need to provide that function from the original wiring on your car. You can make use of the old wires from the 3-pin Weather Pack connector at the firewall behind the rear seat because that was the original fuel pump power and wiring for fuel gauge.
Make yourself a jumper harness between the firewall connector and the extra connector on the HOT WIRE kit. Make sure you put the correct wires in the correct pin location at the HOT WIRE connector.

- The old 3rd gen fuel pump leads (power and ground) are now driving the HOT WIRE 40A fuel pump relay.
- The third small wire from the original car wiring is from the fuel gauge and goes to the fuel sender wires in the HOT WIRE kit.
- The lonely wire left without a home just gets grounded to car body. It is the other side of the fuel sender.

Re: Racetronix Hotwire kit question
The plug for the pump is the only wire for the pump. The 2nd connector thats light blue is conntected to the ALT wire farther down and has 2 grounds like you said. From the light blue connector if you where to follow it goes to the stock 3rd gen blukhead plug which is the plug in the bottom left corner in the pic. So the way you have described it to me is the way I have run it. I hope this is right or I will just fry the pump for sure

Re: Racetronix Hotwire kit question
My fuel tank is still on the ground under the car so I just took a look at it. I think what I told you is correct but I forgot that I have the stock 4th gen fuel tank harness. It plugs right in to the other connector of the HOT WIRE kit and will allow you to bring the bundle of wires all the way back to the firewall. You can clip off the 4th gen specific connector at the firewall and splice in your own 3-pin Weather Pack and anything else you need. Not necessary to fabricate the entire jumper harness if you already have the 4th gen fuel tank harness. Just modify the one end of the 4th gen harness.
You are worried about damaging parts if done incorrectly. Valid concern. Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to NEVER TRUST ANYBODY ON A FORUM if stuff can be ruined following their advice. Strip back the wire looms and trace every wire to understand the HOT WIRE harness. That's what I did. You need to do it too. Do not use my advice as a replacement for your understanding. Use my advice with the goal to understand for yourself.
