Lokar throttle cable; LS1 swap
What length cable is needed?
I'd like to order the black stainless cable, but that only comes in a 36" length. Is this long enough? XTC-1000LS1
Thanks

Re: Lokar throttle cable; LS1 swap
you cut them to length and that will be more than long enough

While I certainly understand this, I just gotta say it took me just a few minutes to remove, bend, and reinstall my pedal to work with the non traction control stock cable. If nothing else, grab a junkyard pedal and give it a shot...its a piece of cake.

Got a stock line for dirt cheap and bent a pedla from a parts car I had and was done in 15min and didnt have to pay a insane price for something thats not needed right now like a lokar. Just my 2 cents

Re: Lokar throttle cable; LS1 swap
Neither the 4th gen cable or the Lokar cable are a direct fit. I don't know why people omit this information almost 100% of the time. Neither has the shape to snap into the slot in the firewall, and the Lokar is physically too big to clear the FAST 102 intake.
You will have a seamless fit and function if you merge the 3rd and 4th gen cables. Here is the non-hack way to do it (because there are lots of hack ways people have done it!)

I covered the cable install pretty good in my thread since I hadn't seen much info out there about it. Clear pics included.

Re: Lokar throttle cable; LS1 swap
If you can't afford that, then maybe just attach a washer to the firewall and use the 4th gen cable.

Re: Lokar throttle cable; LS1 swap
The only good advice I can think of is to get yourself a heat gun and bench vice. These are both a lifetime buy and shop essentials. The heat gun is cheap. Bench vice is not, so yard sale it (they don't wear out).
If you can't afford that, then maybe just attach a washer to the firewall and use the 4th gen cable.

A heat gun at Harbor Freight is like $10 with a coupon and a bench vice is a must have in your garage. I use mine all the time - paid for itself many times over.
