I can give you a material list. I would rather not build another set, its pretty simple but a lot of work.

That's the plan! Its a 2 steps forward, 1 step back sort of process right now. I'm knocking things off my checklist though.

Re: Iroc LQ4, S480 turbo build
well all on paper its turned up to push 10.4 lbs of boost its somewhere in the neighbor hood of 900 plus maybe 8 something to the rear wheels, its a full roller engine, msd electronics, 15.5 compression with boost, 9.1 just motor. I had to have a clutch made for it, kept blowing the others up. It doesn't move much, I have to run 114 plus octane or it detonates badly. It took me a year to build, wanted an 8-71 but my machinist said it wouldn't be proportioned right and look funny on a small block, so I opted for the 6-71.
Its in my 72 nova muncie 4 speed 10.5 rear end full spool, 456 gears moser axles with c clip eliminators.

I haven't been really taking any videos in the tuning process. Its kinda tough to make changes and watch things while holding my phone at the same time. I did however take it for a spin around the block and do a burnout in the driveway Haha!

Are you running a stock k member? If so how do you plan to run the exhaust out the back?

Re: Iroc LQ4, S480 turbo build
Thanks guys, Yes I do currently have a stock k member. I could fit a 4" pipe between the subframe rail and the engine. The dipstick is currently the only thing in the way. I really would like to upgrade the k member but funding isn't there yet.

Re: Iroc LQ4, S480 turbo build
Any plans on making more of those hotsides? I'd be in for a set...can't find anything on the market...
Also, what size and backspacing are your rear wheels? Tucks nicely

No, I do quite a few projects at work. That's mostly where I got my TIG experience. I'm self taught and bought my own machine. Thanks though, I'm getting better!

Awesome project Shawn! Congrats on getting to drive it. I can wait to finish my similar build. Thanks for taking the time to post pics and info. Its nice to get ideas by seeing what others have done before you jump into it yourself.

Not a problem. Thanks. Obviously there's s few things I wish I did different but I don't think it turned out too bad for my first turbo setup.

No, it's a factory race cover. This cover is actually from a John Deere generator.

Re: Iroc LQ4, S480 turbo build
Ahhh! Updates are coming! The car made plenty of passes down the track this past season. I had traction issues every pass. I had a lot of the old guys at the track asking me about my sanity! Anyway. In search of traction, I decided to make some suspension updates to the front and rear!
I purchased a set of Viking DA rear shocks, rod end panhard bar, LCA's and V6 springs. The current rear setup is poly. I also bought a set of stiff wall 28's at the end of the season.
The front setup is currently a stock k member and a arms and some ST lowering springs. So far I purchased a BMR K Member and A Arms. I need to order coilovers, 90/10 struts and CC plates next.
Other than that, my current ARB is a spohn bar and its been sliding side to side a bit on launch which concerned be. I bought a set of collar sleeves to clamp on the bar to stop that from happening. Hopefully I can get my 60' down with all these changes! So far a best of 1.58 is horrible!
Besides all those things, my last track day resulted in an issue with my trans. I was stuck in 3rd gear. I ended up pulling the trans and it'll go in for a rebuild plus my transbrake will be going in. Next season should be fun

It's a car show.. I kinda find car shows boring. I'd rather do a cruise or hit up Woodward myself

Its been out there a few times Jay. I work 2nd shift so I don't go out Friday nights anymore but usually Saturday I'll shoot down there. Seems like Fridays are the nights to go though. There's going to be a few turbo LS third gens floating around Woodward next season

I can't. I'd have to cut my back brace again which is a pain! I think the collars will work

Yeah ya do! Couple reasons on the gates. The turbo is a twin scroll, space constraints and twin gates offer a little better control. I may change up the drives side to match the passenger side. I think it looks kinda goofy like that.

Re: Iroc LQ4, S480 turbo build
Well, I figure you turbo guys need some motivation. I'm in the middle of a cleanup project. Trying to get all my wiring to a more permanent solution rather than the rats nest I was running last year.
I've made a few improvements this year. Viking DA's in the rear and all rod end suspension with V6 Moog springs. 28x10.5 stiff walls are going on as well.
The trans is getting built with a Griner brake.
Up front I bought a BMR tubular K member and A arms but that wont be installed until Viking releases their front struts. Anyway, the Turbo****** will be out next week!
