Re: L98 to 6.0l LQ9 Swap 89 Iroc
There had been a visit from the post man when I got home last night....
LS1 Intake and fuel injectors scored from LS1tech 150.00 shipped...
I could have done some fab work on my own mounts but this is so much more easy..

So I know what your thinking did I get screwed on the 5.3 since I was not able to verify the cam before the purchase?
Score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI the 5.3 is in great shape other than missing a couple of oil changes. New set of bearings, Hot Tank and it should be project ready!

So I am thinking the LQ9 with a set of 243 heads and the above TSP cam should make for a fun ride..... I would love to go FI, just don't have the bones for it though...

I know this is mainly thirdgen cars but here is what I have been working on.
5.3 after I rebuilt it.
Some pics in the truck.
I have learned a few things since installing this turbo... Don't clock your turbos like this kids.
Oil return no more than 15° from vertical

And here are some pics of carnage.
This was the recent owner of the LQ9.
Goes with out saying I rolled the truck so no need for a replacement engine.
Ont he bright side of things it has speed the swap project for the camaro up!

Re: L98 to 6.0l LQ9 Swap 89 Iroc
If I may make a suggestion....Junk the ls1 intake and find an ls2 or ls6. Lq9 with a cam like yours that intake is going to rob you of a significant amount of power. Better runners, larger throttle body, etc..

Progress has been a little slow.
Most of last weekend was spent working on the wife's car getting it ready for Friday races.
I did get the K-Member finished up.

That is a really clean car you've got!
Have you thought about something other than the 2500rpm stall torque converter? A restalled 12" stocker won't do anything for you other than generate heat. You need more stall speed even for a stock setup.

Re: L98 to 6.0l LQ9 Swap 89 Iroc
Progress still slow but I did manage to get a few things done.
Drilled and tapped hole for alternator.
And just a few shots of accessories. I still need to clean these up.
I also got one of the flanges welded on the manifold.
Weld looks like crap, I should have used the mig rather then tig.
