need help wiring my ALDL - LT1

Can't pull codes.

I have found my b and m port wires for the ALDL, but what wires from the LT1 harness go to them?

I also noticed that my ALDL port only had pins on the top row.

Am I missing anything else?

94 LT1 into an 84 camaro swap.

Re: need help wiring my ALDL

I'm just about positive that's incorrect. 94 LT1's still had an OBD1 12 pin connector. The switch to OBDII was in 95. Secondly, Considering the ALDL is origional from an 84, the OBDII wouldn't even fit.

It still is obd1 but with a obd2 connection.

Re: need help wiring my ALDL

Lets get back on track. What wire does the LT1 harness splice into so I can read the codes from my OBD1 ALDL in my 84 camaro. I think it is the diagnotsic enable wire from the C230 does it splice to terminal B in the origional port?

You are were supposed to look at the ALDL wires originating on the PCM which are the same regardless of a 12 pin or 16 pin ALDL and work out where they run

94 and 95 used the same identical PCM , only the ALDL layout changed

You are wrong
Is very well documented that 95 had a OBDII 16 pin ALDL plug but was still OBDI
The switch to OBDII was in 96 ( only 96/97 LT1's have the crank angle sensor used with OBDII )

need help wiring my ALDL - LT1-94-5lt1schematic.jpg
Im using this and some of shoebox's stuff to wire mine. I have the same issue as you. Make sure that you are scanning for the right type of flash as when I got my PCM back from the guy who flashed it, it had a frigging caprice L99 knock module in it. I got this picture from one of Pocket's threads. He seems to know alot about these cars and has made a few very helpful guides. Im going to rewire my thirdgen harness into my LT1 harness this weekend and do my ALDL wiring just like this photo. Im going to put the scan port in the engine bay.

You're right, what I meant was that the ALDL switched to 16 pin in 95 (OBDII type ALDL connection), the OBDII was in 96'. Good catch.

Re: need help wiring my ALDL

Ok, since I only have pins on the top row, can I go cut an ALDL with an "M" pin on it out of a car at the local junkyard. Will that still work? The CEL is triggered by the ECM so as long as I can jump the A,B and M pins it should flash the light???????
