ls1 Super Victor cowl height
Has anyone ran the Super victor on their ls1 swap? Really looking for pics of P/N 28097 (carb version). Just trying to figure out if I have enough cowl or not.

Re: ls1 Super Victor cowl height
I ran one on my old Iroc, ran a FAST 4150 throttle body and carb hat and needed a 4" cowl. May have been able to get away with a 3" though. Just found a 4" local

thanks Jay! Do you know which brand carb hat you used? I think I may be to tight but it may be worth a shot. I'm putting together a forged ls1 built to make power over 7000 and I know the Super Vic is supposed to be better in many regards to the Jr.

Re: ls1 Super Victor cowl height
I had a super victor on my 408LS with a 4150 carb. It fit with a 2 1/2in glasstek cowl hood. Also used a proform 2.25in drop base air cleaner with a 3in filter. The top of the air cleaner would barely rub the under side of the hood but didn't cause any issues(solid mounts so movement was minimal). Had to trim the throttle bracket to clear the drop base.

I had the regular Extreme Velocity. The NONE Pro series. I would say it was around 3.5-4" tall. but the Throttle body was only 2" tall. I also ran those dumb motor mount adapter plates. So im sure that raised the motor a tad.
I had full intentions on building a carbed LS for this 87 Camaro that I'm building now to keep it how it was factory (carbed) until I realized at least a 2.5" cowl was needed. I prefer the look of the stock Z28/Iroc-Z Louver hood.
