introduction to " junk box "

Hey guys, just a little slow *** build thread of my turbo 6.0l turd.
This is my first ever build thread so dont be to harsh
Cars name is junkbox will be primarily drag raced with street time and a little street racing...
Car is a 1983 camaro was originally a 305 5speed t-top car... We found it in a barn all torn apart with low km. Splashed some blue paint on it and drove around for the summer
Plans are:
lq4 sbe ljms cam
borg warner s400
powerglide
moser 9inch
12point cage
kirky seats
All the fun stuff,
planning on some single digit passes and some serious fast street passes where it will spend most of its time....

got bored with it and couldnt stay away from drag racing. So motor came out

Re: introduction to " junk box "

in between all these stupid car projects bought my first home and got engaged so progress will be even slower now. LOL

but back to the car stuff
got the motor mocked into the car with the spohn mounts

put the motor together just for mock up, i know the valve covers are backwards they are just placed there.

Re: introduction to " junk box "

I'll definitely watch your build, I'm working on my '92 Z28 now with an LQ9 with L92 heads a Comp Cams cam LS3 top end and 4L60E. I'm using Racing Innovations headers through a 4" Mufflex cat back.

Take your time it'll come together, congrats on the engagement and new home.

357 your 8 year build has me feeling better mine has been going on for 18 months and I just picked up my engine kit and now am working on the engine compartment.

Re: introduction to " junk box "

Thanks for the kind words guys, ya I'm honestly in no rush to get it done. I want everything perfect and don't mind keeping it in the garage until it's where I want it.

Nice! Should be a very fun car. I am running my exhaust right off the turbo and out lower fender.

Re: introduction to " junk box "

Once the wedding is over in February car will be getting worked on every night. I just wanted to start something regardless if it took awhile. Tomorrow I will be taking the heater core out, will be running the intercooler piping into the car.

Picked up these Lakewood drag shocks for a great deal. They haven't been used. Bolted them up last night

I'm a bit partial to '83s

looks good, definitely tuned in! and like others have said, by all means take your time. Mine's been a project for 9 years now and still doesn't have final paint or a time slip haha.
