2002 Trans Am gas tank question
I want to know what the white valve (the one next to the yellow X), or what ever it is, on top of the tank does. It has a line that just ends and is open. Is this an overflow valve or an over pressure relief valve? Does this allow for easy filling of gas? Help me out here. Thanks guys

You are correct in your overpressure relief valve guess. FYI the large fitting in the center to the right of the yellow X is of course evap to charcoal line. It contains a float ball that closes off that line to prevent liquid fuel from entering the evap system in case of overfilling or sloshing during vehicle movement. FYI inside the filler neck barb on the side the tank there is very lightly spring biased valve also know as a roll-over valve. From what I have read it is to prevent fuel from pouring out when cornering in case someone forgets to replace their gas cap or in case of a roll over wreck where the cap gets knocked off. The easy filling of gas is accomplished by the vent valve (on the right of the charcoal canister) that is open when ignition off or normal run.

Thank you very much for the info. I'm putting it in my 83 Camaro along with a 95 LT1 and I'm trying to find a home for all the hoses and connections before I install it.
