Holley oil pan

So I'm doing an LS swap (duh lol) and I'm looking for the part number on the holley oil pan that is used. I know I can just use the 4th Gen fbody oil pan but I'd rather just use this one. greatly appreciated .

Re: Holley oil pan

Get the mast pan. Superior in every way. Compared to oem the holley is a cheaply cast pos. If gm got one thing right on lsx engines its the aluminium castings. Maybe modify a gm hotrod/ssr pan or f body pan for more clearance.

Re: Holley oil pan

The part number for the Holley pan you are referring to is 302-2. Both the Holley and Mast pans are sand cast; the OE pans are cast through the permanent mold process. The Holley pan maintain the OE design characteristic of being able to bolt the transmission to the pan, the Mast pan does not. Many swappers are quite satisfied with the Holley and Mast pans in their swaps...it's your choice to make.

Re: Holley oil pan

They may both be sandcast but if you see them side by side the difference is very apparent.

The mast has a full windage tray also.

Re: Holley oil pan

The Mast pan may have a nicer casting finish to some, while to others it may be imperceptible or not important. True, you can only run a full-length windage tray with the Mast if you are not running a stroker crank, but that's due to the Holley pan having a shallower front end geometry for increased vehicle component clearance. The Mast pan also does not tie into the transmission bellhousing as the Holley and OE pans do. There are varied characteristics that people use to determine suitability of one pan over another for a particular project. I could use the Mast or Holley pan and be satisfied personally as long as the external geometry provided the engine fitment and clearances I was looking for.
