Here's mine, silver with dark(gunmetal?) ground effects. When it was repainted I left off the lower striping. I haven't seen too many with this color combo. I did once see my cars sister, a Trans-Am with the same color combo.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!
First of all, thanks for all of the complements on my car, I love it. Doesn't anyone have more pics of their heritage cars. I think all the combinations were beautiful. I saw a white with red stripe Z28 convertible at a car show this summer, I believe it only had 16000 miles. Actully bought a brand new factory 25th anniversary trunk badge from the owner($50.00). The original owner that he purchased it from had 3 extra and a brand new set of factory floor mats that are only put in the car while it is sitting at shows.
I know the purple heritage cars were supposed to come with silver stripes, but I have never seen one. Can anyone help with this? I know everyone likes to show off their cars so let's see them.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!
heres mine dark green grey first year for that color, not alot around not sure about production numbers either though. yes oscar the heritage was a 92 option, all 92 camaros were 25th's but the heritage package was the striping option on the red black and white cars with color matched grilles. dont think think that any other colors had stripes, but could be wrong.
Looks great.

i second that, pretty sure they didnt do any two tone paint in 92 or stripes like that, not to mention your hood is not correct. the car has been repainted at some point with hood stripes and silver added

Purple haze is the original paint code but i believe the stripes were also original and were extended onto the nose but i dont know for sure. And yes the grond effects have been painted silver also. I dont really know much about the car cause im technically the second owner of the car and the original owner lives in Florida and have never talked to him about the car. So im up for any information about it lol.

There were around 11,000 copper (burnt orange) Camaros in 1985 and a few in 1986 but it doesn't look like the same shade.

Here's an original copper/russet /85 z28... a one year color. I think there were only about 500 Copper z28 5-speeds. I made this web portfolio special for this forum, i'll add interior pix sometime, faded of course. Hope this helps.

Kind of odd, but in my town (30 mins from Carlisle) there I know of at least one car of each of these rare schemes. I owned an 82 cross fire dark red z28 once myself.

I must say, that out of all the third-gen Camaro's, yours is my favorite...other than my own of course. It's good to see a beautiful, unmolested muscle-car in this day and age. This car is simply gorgeous!!

Some nice cars in here. I use to have an '88 IROC that was medium grey metallic before someone painted it black. I tore the interior out and was shocked to see the grey. I looked up the code and was kinda upset the previous owner painted it black lol...
What is that yellow called again? I love that colour. Same with the burnt oranges, dark grey's and that green/grey mix.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!
Nice "Z" exact same as mine except I still sport the factory wheels, it's actually #4 on the low end of production colors beaten by Gold with 6788 , Dark Jade with 1881 and Light Jade with 1160. This color was called Maroon (that's how GM lists it in paint match specs anyway) back in 1982 and was on a total of 9889 out of 189,747 Camaro bodies (not all Z28's) so yeah I'd say it's a rare color for that production year. Nice pic dude love that Camaro.

Thanks jfl1960, I am definitely a big fan of the color, do you have pictures of yours posted up here as well, I might have missed them but would love to see them! I've actually got two of these cars that were painted this color, here is my second car, which is 100% stock.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!
Hey 82Camaroguy:
This is the best I have of my Z28, no motor, no interior, no trans, broken windshield, in process of restoration, haven't got any good pics before the project started, will get some in process pics but can't really post them in this thread, right now it's in the process of getting a new floor pan on drivers side, motor is out for rebuild, suspension is getting all new poly bushings, lowering springs, adjustable rear control arms and pan-hard bar along with adjustable torque arm. I will try and dig up a pre disassembly pic but I kinda think I lost most of those in the divorce along with my my house, my camera, my dog and my *****, just glad I got away with my tools and car/trucks.
I was struggling with a color change to black with charcoal interior (I found a Z28 with good interior in this color, and it was a factory option for 1982 color scheme), I was on the fence until I saw yours in all it's glory then I remembered how nice mine looked on a sunny clear day after washing and waxing, definitely sticking with the Maroon exterior and interior, will be using a black carpet as I already have a brand new one and my maroon is faded and really rough, can always change that back later if I want to, does yours have the contour seat on drivers side like mine (front buckets are different , the drivers seat is a fully adjustable sport seat whereas the passenger side is a standard high back bucket seat). Would love to see some [pics of your interior?
Sweet pics of the Z28, I made a screen saver from the ones you posted, thanks . By the way what's up with the antenna, I see a hole where it should be?????
One more question the red pinstripe along the bottom of the ground effects, that's not original is it?? never seen that before.

Anyone have a 82-84 Z28 in chocolate brown with the lower GFX in silver? I almost bought one when I was 16 and it had a light brown interior and T-tops. Was a nice color combo. Some guy offering less $ and on loan (which never got paid) got the damn car.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!
Hi Jfl1960, I think it is so cool you decided to stick with the maroon color, and am glad I could help motivate you to do so Your car is coming along really nicely! My antenna was missing because I actually had that car repainted and I was still putting it back together at that point, it's got an antenna now. Also the lower red pinstripe was not stock, my dad added that to my other car way back in the day and I thought it looked nice enough to add it to this car as well. The wheels are also my original wheels from the other car in which my dad had added the red pinstripe to as well, I think the pace car wheels had the stripe. Neither of my cars came with the countour seat originally, I have a set from an later model firebird (Both contour fronts) that I was thinking of getting recovered and using for awhile but never got around to it. Lately I've been moving pieces between the cars, so the car with the Z06 wheels has all 4th gen camaro seats and the stock car got my original silver/gray interior. The car with the Z06 wheels has also been donating aftermarket suspension pieces since it is in the process of getting a LS1, C5 torque tube and transaxle assembly and tubular k member and coil overs etc.... Here are some interior shost from the car with the Z06 wheels before I moved the interior to the other car.
