It might be a little to early to start this thread but screw it Im bored so Why not. Like I said earlier this is a pretty for sure thing..

So the story goes like this back in August I bought my second Thirdgen for $1000 it was a v6 beater with a bad interior that I ended up replacing for 100 bucks from a donor car... It needed new injectors for it to run correctly and alotttt of TLC. Nothing impossible but very costly. So after about six months of having it im only 1100 dollars in after getting a new interior, the week I am getting ready to purchase the injectors I am also moving homes, jobs, and schools. So the entire move drained me of my funds because at the same time the VATS goes out on the car so I had to have it towed to my dads house because I could not keep it at the new house (no space) So fast forward to now I finally got transferred to a new Job and I am ready to start putting money into this thing again when my brother approaches me with an offer to buy his car (the 92) for 3k.. So I guess I took the easy way out but It really alleviated me of some stress. So the plan as of know is to sell the project car and put all my money into the Green Grey RS.

Eventually I want to swap in an LS.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

So how about some info on the DGGM (Dark Green Grey Metallic) lol

Its basically a fully loaded Rs L03, Premium Interior, 2:73 gears, 4spd Auto

The previous owner did some "mods" to it.. The idiot threw a crappy edelbrock Intake/Carb on it and screwed some stuff up lol Not dissing carbs but I think he got the cheapest **** he could find and just threw it on there.. The intake doesnt even fit properly.. Me and my bro already had to replace the intake gaskets on it once because he did that wrong...

Dont have many pics of it at the moment but I will have plenty once I get the car... The only hold at the moment is I dont have the money yet and my brothers wife is daily driving it soon he is going to buy her a new car and the only wait will be me getting the cash....

thanks dude Its a color that was made only in 92 and only a little over 2600 of them were made in this color..

Definitely going to try and keep it as stock as possible on the exterior.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

My planned mods are as follows:

Suspension:

1. Panhard bar and LCA's
2. Ride Tech Air Ride Or Drop Springs
3. Front & Back Sway Bars
4. SFC's
5. 4th Gen Rear END
6. C5 Brakes

Thinking about saving up the 2k for the hotchkis kit.

Interior:
1.Headliner (none at the moment)
2. Shifter Plate broken (another failed mod by the PO)
3.4th Gen Leather Seats
4. MoMo Steering wheel and removable Hub adapter and lock http://static.weloveshopping.com/sho...lleniumEvo.jpg
5. Custom Ultimat Floor mats http://www.chevymall.com/Fmats5.asp (these are AWESOME)

Exterior:

1.Touch up on paint (has some very minor rust and dents)
2. 2010 Grandsport corvette wheels 18x8.5/19x10 275/45/ all around
3. Chevy Bowtie Grill
4. New headlamps/parking lamps Hid/Led
5. SS HOOD or Z28 Hood Blisters.

Engine Swap:

The current engine is a slug but it does enough to get me around and about, of course it eats up gas like crazy.

I have an L98 sitting in the garage, that I might just rebuild and drop in their but I know my gas mileage would go down even more and I really dont want that. So I am going to take a 5.3 into consideration, do the math see if its worth it. Either way it wont be seeing a new engine for a while, unless the L03 decides to take a crap on me.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

Good choice! Looks just like mine when I started, but I did not have the premium interior option.

In addition to being a one year only color for the thirdgen, and the lowest production number for the year it was also an RS only color. You could get a B4C, but no Z in it.

Update

The car is still alive and I am a month closer to having it!

Unoftunately I have no actual updates since the car is not officially mine yet..

here is a recent pic I got of it at work

crappy iphone pic

What do you guys think about these wheels

Really like the way they look in gun metal grey they would compliment the cars paint but they only sell them as a 18x9.5/19x12 set.. Thinking about just getting them in chrome and plastidipping them and maybe getting them powdercoated later on..

I have also decided on the L31 as the engine... the LS would be to costly for me right now and to intricate.

Im going to get the longblock from JEGS throw a stealth ram on it an LT4 cam and some Hooker headers/exhaust and call it a day...

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

Brings back memories when my dad almost bought me that RS in same color and gray custom interior. That is until we went back to Sopp Chevrolet the a few days later to buy it when two ubnoxious salesmen said that we could not afford it and they did not have it anymore when they had it out of the lot still.

And we had cash to pay for it.

If all goes well I will have the Air Ride bought before I buy the car so the car will be down right after I purchase it... Soon after I am done with that project and I am sure that I will not have to spend any money on anything(I will be doing it myself so I shouldnt) I will begin saving up for the wheels and tires...

man I have some much I want done to this car it drives me nuts lol

Well Sopp Chevrolet went out of business a couple of years ago. But yea, on that test drive, I was all smiles. And yea, I am very happy with my '87. But that RS was sweet.

that looks sick.

the brakes can be done pretty cheap if you make some of the conversion parts yourself

Nice car

Those wheels would look sick. Especially in a 18/19 setup and some serious rubber.

Not sure if the 275s will fit in front they may interfer with turning radius 275s are pretty tight in back(not saying it cant be done)

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

I think I have been running 265 up front with very minimal rubbing, I don't have any turn stops though, had to cut them off for a big break upgrade.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

I have 275/35/18s all the way round and only have rubbing at full lock, and the rubbing is just on the mud flap. I'd go 285 in the back, you'll have the room, might as well use it.

Will be a very good looking car when you get those wheels on.

nothing noticeable, but since i have had the stress cracks behind my steering gearbox and thats what a wonderbar is designed to prevent, i highly recommend it.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

So the car is officially mine.

It is currently having an overheating problem so I am going to address that tomorrow.

I will also be cleaning the crap out of it. Its super dirty (the previous owner never cleaned the inside or outside)

Im going to start with the interior. I will be removing the front seats and pulling back the carpet to see what the floor boards look like.

Also going to install my Z28 grille. and I might remove the tail lights and start restoring them.

My gas guage is not working at the moment either so I want to fix that as well. I think the wire might be disconnected somewhere. Everything is connected and grounded at the fuel pump.

Ill update this tomorrow with more pics and my results.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

Washed and waxed it today, still needs alot more detailing for me to be completely pleased with the look. But this will do for now since its just going to be sitting in my drive way under a cover for a couple weeks.

I also replaced the original grill. That thing was way overdue.

The Bowtie grill is a bit roughed up as well but it looks much better.

Unfortunately by the time I was done waxing it I was almost completely out of light. Tomorrow Im going to get some nice shots of it in the Sun.

I also waxed my Tail lights. I have to admit I am pretty impressed with how they came out didnt think it would make much of a difference. What do you guys think?

Damn I really need to remove these tail lights and clean under them and my license plate is disgusting. Guess ill be waxing my license plate tomorrow lol just kidding. Definitely going to do something to it tho. Anyways the tail lights came out pretty good but they still need to be repainted and clear coated to be show quality.

Re: Dark Green Grey Metallic 92 Rs

Some time next week I am going to begin detailing the engine bay. Since its carbed ill probably begin with the removal of all the smog crap and go from there, and yes I still pass inspection.
