I'm accepting the cost. Especially when I was really looking for one a couple of years ago they were selling at $600+. I did have to get a few clips and bolts from the hardware store, but everything else was there. For now I just put everything back in the box and it is going in the closet for safe keeping.

Just a little update. I got plates last week. Going to put insurance on when I renew the bike next month. So then I'll be able to take the car home to work on it and get it primered and put back together, but I'll finally be able to work on it. My second gen is just about done so now there will be time for the IROC. 
EDIT: Just put insurance on it. Won't be able to probably get anything done though this week. Raining most of the week and I'm not in town this weekend. So it looks like next weekend I might get to get it home and start working on it.

Got to drive the IROC around the block yesterday morning. Got it started and messed with it a little bit tonight. Been making a list of stuff I need to do right away before I drive it much further like change the trans filter and get fluid in it. That was pretty low when I checked it tonight. Might need to get some new brake pads or the master cylinder is failing. Kind of a spongy feel in the pedal when braking, but the brakes all seemed to work and not locked up. Then I need to get that body sanded and in primer before going any further with it. I also received my plates the other day and got them on the car too. Not many options left with IROC in it without some random number.

Got the transmissions serviced Saturday. The fluid was pretty dirty, but there didn't seem to be much metal on the pan magnet. So I changed the filter and put in fluid. Too bad I couldn't get the old fluid out of the torque converter. Got some pictures of the underside of the car. I did break a crossmember bolt. So if anyone reads this and has one I'd like to find an original bolt for the time being. Otherwise when I go to fix it I'll just get a bolt from the hardware store. Eventually stuff will be upgraded as well. So I'm not too worried about it.

Just another update with more progress. It's getting closer. I cleaned up and painted the front bumper till I find a better one that I'll do a better job on and then sanded down the deck lid and got that painted too.

Thanks! I will be putting the spoiler and all of the other ground effects on when I get them painted as well. I do need to redo the trunk lid. It didn't turn out as well as I had hoped and it needs another coat of paint. I'm happy to be finally able to work on it. It is already a fun car to drive.

Haven't had a chance to do anything to the car this passed month with being busy almost every weekend and the rain we keep getting. I'm hoping to get some work done tonight and tomorrow night. After I get it all primered I need to fix the door hinges. So it looks like that will be next... I still have the roof, doors and quarters to get sanded and primered.

Got the driver door sanded and painted right before dark last night, so no update picture of that side as of yet. Just leaves me with the quarters and roof to do on the car. Then its on to getting the ground effects and spoiler pieces painted and on the car. After that I can finally start cleaning and putting the interior back together. At this rate I might have it travel worthy by fall.

I don't want to take the doors off of the car. the fenders I painted before putting on the car, but that passenger fender needs more work. Found bondo in it and quit. The point of what I'm doing right now is that I don't have a good shop to work on it and the person I got the car from sanded it down to primer and metal 10 years ago and I need to at least get the rust sanded off and some sort of paint on the metal so it does not rust again. Later I will come back and do a better job and actually paint the car.

I had the driver mirror on till I worked on that door, but at the time the paint was still fresh and I didn't want to put it back on yet. I drove it back to the storage in the dark in hopes I wouldn't see a cop. I put them back on the day I took that picture though. So it's fully legal again.

Small update. Got the door lock actuators replaced with new ones, got the lock linkage working really well and got all of the rattles out of it. Next on the list is the rear impact bar and the windows in the door. The rivits holding the windows to the track have broken off, so the windows are just sitting there. Also have to tackle the job of fixing the door hinges, but that may wait till next year.

I'm not looking forward to doing that job. I'm trying to do anything else I can avoiding those till I have to. I would like to get my door and rocker ground effects on, but don't want to do that till the hinges are fixed. I guess I'm procrastinating, lol.

Started to take some more of the interior apart so I can replace the headliner and shampoo the carpets and seats. Hoping I have time after work tonight to do a few more little things.

I noticed a huge difference, but everything was dried up from sitting so long and not being used. It was very slow and sluggish, but after spraying every moving part of the assembly with lithium grease it was working like new again.

Finally got interior pictures taken. Haven't done much with the interior yet. This is pretty much how I got it, but I do have everything. It's in pretty good condition other than being torn apart and needing a major cleaning/shampooing.

Got the 2nd gen ready for the season. So in the next week I'm hoping to get started on this. First thing I have to do is continue working on the trunk pull down motor. Then get those door hinge pins replaced. The driver side is what really needs those, but I'm going to do both doors. I did get a few goodies over the winter for this that I was getting for the 2nd gen at the time. I got a radio power off delay unit, dome light timer fader and replaced my daily driver radio so I have one for this now.

Finally a little update. Got some stuff moved around in the garage and got the car home Friday night. Changed the oil and got the trunk pull down motor working. Next will be the door hinge pins and the driver detent roller. Then I can get the side ground effects painted and on the car and finally start on the interior after that. I still need to either resand and repaint the roof or sand and see if it smooths out. I'm certainly happy to be able to get back to working on the car again.

Over the weekend I removed all of the interior except for the main part of the dash, carpet and the driver seat. I'll post some pictures soon. Still need to get the hinge fixed, but didn't have time this weekend. Also ordered some of the stereo equipment that I'm putting in the car. I was hoping to have it ready for Third Gen Expo this year, but I think I'm going to be a week or two passed that.
