99 z28 and 86 iroc

Hey guys. I figured this would be a good time to introduce myself. I've been a lurker on this forum for years but never posted (because I didn't own a Camaro at the time) but now... I own two! My first is my 99 z28. ls1/t56. 40k miles, mostly stock other than wheels, mild tune, flowmaster cat back and hurst shifter. This thing is my baby (well, both the Camaros are) Anyways, the 86 Iroc I just purchased last week. has 305tpi/700r4 (that is stack shifting, currently working on that) It needs some tlc and is missing a few things (like the hood louvers and that drives me NUTS) but overall is in great shape and runs pretty good. I got a good deal on it and couldn't pass it up. I attached the photos, I was too scared if I posted them in the post it would blow the page out of proportion. (and yes, that is my dodge ram in the iroc picture as well, I am a bit of a closet mopar fanatic as well)Anyways, I figured i'd make this my first post, and I am looking forward to talking with you guys and learning all that I can about the third gens. Glad to be a part of the forum!

Welcome to the site!

On your stack shifting, Make sure your TV cable is set. See thead's on how to do it, real simple. Or it could be the solenoid in the trans. My 85 did it, it was the solenoid. Good Luck!

Re: 99 z28 and 86 iroc

Thanks guys. The iroc is in pretty good shape for 140k and never being restored. It has dings and dents/scratches but i bought a mother's powerball 4paint and some ultimate black paste wax and it really shined her up good. Id like to redo the wheels to get them shining bright again here soon. As for the trans, i have set it and it seems to shift 10x better than it did when i got it, but still not 100%.the cable to me seems stretched. I have a new tv cable coming in from rock auto this week hopefully that straightens her out. Previous owner had his "buddy" ( i cringed when he said that) rebuild the 700r4 so i believe that the problem is ultimately in the trans, but im staying in denial and hoping for the best.

I like the part about being in denial that's how I was with my engine last year, I just didn't want to believe the rings were bad but $2,600 later it runs amazing.
