Equilibrium Camaro

Ok so I have been gone a for a few years and I'm back... I have been working on developing the suspension for the equilibrium Camaro . It's a 1992 v6 wct5 car, that's heavily modified and still has a long way to go... Right now it have a fully one off custom made suspension system... Front coilovers built from scratch as well as custom made cromoly control arms to widen the track width of the. At by just under 4 inches. The coilovers are entirely built from scratch and have internal resiviors. The rear shocks are also coilovers with large external resiviors . The car is half caged so far.. From the sets back is done but I'm still working on the front half. The upper front strut mounts are also made from scratch with unibal or sphiracle bearings to achieve maximum strength and smooth precise movements.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

I have finally got the fender flares on and roughly smoothed out. The wider fenders allow me to fit the front suspension I have developed and also a 4th gen rear with a spacer on top of that... After I did the fenders I got together with a good buddy of mine and we designed the heat extractor hood louvers which I do make and am looking to sell them. I am currently working on a new rear spoiler out of carbon fiber that will be the full width of the rear end instead of just the width of the hatch. The spoiler will also sit and inch lower for less drag. Also, I am designing the rear diffuser and after that will be the front splitter... The rear defused will actually be cut up into the rear bumper of the car and protrude out the rear for better and smoother air flow.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

I was reading about your car in another of your posts, and love the hood and the suspension is freaking awesome, but what I'm most curious about is what's going on with your front turn signals lol. I'm curious what you did with them. I need to replace my dull gazed signals and was thinking of something custom.

Very surprised to learn it's a v6 car, that's awesome to show the underdog some love!

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

The turn signals got moved to where the high beam lights go and the hi and lows are in the low bean light spot. There are projectors that have a baffel for high low and where the original turn signals to are 144 watt led fog/driving light. I have the v6 due to weight bias. I will be doing a ls1 swap aced I find a donnar car . Thank you very much for the support. I do make the hood louvers to sell if anyone is interested.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

Would be if I hadn't already gotten a z28 hood and made the blisters functional extractors. I still need to clean them up, paint where I cut and glass some mesh from the under side to keep debris out. How much you selling the louvers for, I do still have the factory flat hood.........

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

I'm not really sure how much to sell them for to be honest. What do you think they are worth? Thanks for the kind word on my suspension .. Lots of time and planning went into it. It handles so incredibly well it scares me lol one thing I planned into it is the turning angle. I have 285 tires on 9.5 wide wheels and can turn lock to lock without running with room to spare. What are your plans on your project

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

I'm just trying to make a nice daily driver for my wife that has a bit of pep when I drive it. Mostly just want it to look good, be reliable, comfy, and any time I can find a rare part throw it in lol. My build thread is the one titled the never ending project. I do want to swap to a newer engine with a bit more pep eventually but the motor in it now was only 300 bucks with less than 40,000 miles.

I could care less about factory correct or any of that, I like modifying lol your just way past my energy level I can bring myself to put into it, my baby is my 94 mustang GT vert. I'm a ford guy, my wife is a chevy fan, even though I wasn't a huge fan of chevy I still want it to be as nice as I can, people are usually pretty surprised after they see all that's done to the camaro to hear I've got under 2 grand into it including buying the car. I've prolly just hit that 2 grand mark with the stuff I bought the past few weeks though.

Nice! Mustang looks good. Did you make the roll bar or was it a kit? Did it stiffen it up at all?

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

Well I installed the bar, and welded on subframe connectors at the same time so I can't comment on the bar alone, but my daily driver (04 vert mustang) has subframe connectors and no roll bar and it does indeed feel a bit stiffer than the 04, but the 94 also has been lowered a hair and has stiffer suspension and bigger sway bars so is hard to say. Right now it's up on stands, the previous owner installed a new clutch, but didn't replace the leaking rear main when he did which ruined the clutch, so while it's up I have new equal length headers, and the top end from a mercury mountaineer, internally the mercury top end is the same as a 94-95 cobra top end, so I'm sort of making a budget cobra clone without calling it a cobra or anything. I've also got a 92 drag GT I'm working on. I helped a friend build it, ran great when it left my garage, then bought it from him a year later with a fried wire harness from him cutting stuff up. Then there's the off road toy 87 bronco. And all 6 rx7 at my barn. And my dad's 69 mach 1 and my 67 thunderbird. I have to many projects...........

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

It's great till va personal property tax comes knocking. Most of the rx7 are just junk parts cars. I love my fords but it has been fun working on the camaro, I have gotten extremely lucky sourcing some rare stuff and getting crazy deals on good parts. And ya know, happy wife happy life lol my current project is getting ac back in it but I'm trying to stick with my cheap sourcing parts. I've finally gotten everything but a drier and condenser. Those are the only two parts I refuse to purchase used.

I made them my self. A buddy of mine built the valve pack. I built everything else. They work great. I just came afore Penske or ohlens so I figured I could make a better set than what most of the retail companies are selling and by making them my self I saved a lot of money on them

I'll talk to my buddy about it. We kinda did it under the table after hours at the shop he works at, but not they are taking inventory so I would have to talk with him to figure out the valve parts situation... But yea I might do that..they take a long time to build though just FYI lol

I too am interested in those turn signal lights and where you got them. I would also like to know where you got that shift **** from and if it screws on to the stock shifter like the stock **** does. I'm looking to replace mine and I love what yours looks like.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

The turn signals I have are I. The location off what was originally the high beams. What you see is my led fog and dI I ing lights . I got them on eBay 144watt led. As for the shift ****.. I cut down the original shifter about 3 inches and threaded the inside a 1.5 pitch and cut the head off of a metric bolt and lock tight it in to the shifter and orders the **** also off eBay . I'm changing the interior colors from yellow to orange so the stitching on the shifter boot will be changes to grey and orange and I'll be doing a diamond stiched pattern across the dash panel I made . Which over time will also be added to the seats and headliner.. Grey stitching with or and accented as well

This is the driving/fog light .. The turn signal is the inner fake projector and the high/low is the outer projector

You guys know if you wanna subscribe to a thread you can click the thread tools arrow on the first post on the right side and click subscribe right? There's a ton of things and tools on this site I don't think people realize is there.

I'm gonna attempt to modify my turn signal with some led strips, I hope for it to look about how your lights look. I'm guessing the biggest thing will be finding some that blink orange.

You can either get a circuit board and elder a bunch of amber led lights to it or try the led tape. You can also get amber led 1157 bulbs too. Just be sure to put in and electronic flasher

That's good to hear. What swap are you getting ready to do?

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

I'll be happy with a newer vortec 350, I'm hoping to find a wrecked truck so I can get the motor, harness, and anything else I need. Would be cool to have an obd2 setup. I'm looking for something that's been rear ended or tboned.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

Yea totally want ond2. I was going to do a 5.3 but it's just smarter to get a ls1 Camarillo dinar car and swap everything over. I'm in California and I need to pass smog and I really would like it to be legal. Plus I need the aluminum block due to weight. The 5.3 is too beaver unless I find one with an aluminum block and even the., all together to price all the parts I need will cost more than I can get a do at car for that already has everything I need.

Re: Equilibrium Camaro

Amber and white actually alternate back and forth.. Until the turn signal cancels and then it stays white
