We have lost a friend

I heard a depressing rumor today which was unfortunately true . Last night, our 3rdgen brother Craig Landry(ZAP RACING) passed away. This is huge loss as Zap was such a great friend to everybody here and such a huge factor with organization of the Houston 3rdgen meets. I spoke to his wife a few minutes ago and she said she would post as to when the memorial service will be held. I will pray for his wife & family as they lost a great man.

R.I.P Craig Landry

I think Zap was the main reason I got involved in this site, I dont think we would have half of the things that we would have without Zap. He will be greatly missed not only as a fellow thirdgener but as a friend. R.I.P. Craig

Re: We have lost a friend

I know I will miss Craig, he was a good man.
This is so "out of the blue"! It is hard to believe.

I'm know it is even harder for his immediate family.
If they read this, I would be happy to do anything I can to help out.

Craig was a very positive influence on this forum, and his contributions will be sorely missed.

Has anyone contacted Barry?
I know he hasn't been hanging out here much lately, but if anyone has a phone number for him they should let him know.

This is some sad business. Things just won't be the same around here with out him.

That is always a sad thing to hear. Death in particular, No one deserves to die with a suffering family. I hope his family get through this hardship without too much pain.

Show some respect. His wife Sue is most likely logged in under his account to notify people that knew him. Why are you even posting here if you live in Georgia? Please edit or remove your post on this thread.

Thanks, Eric, but I've been visiting him until he went into intensive care, and talking to Sue every day. I waited to post any info until I was asked, as a courtesy to Sue.
He was a friend........a good friend. I've known him for about 17 years. Met doing the slot racing thing. Later, he bought a thirdgen, which was stolen. When he bought his second one, he wanted to know EVERYTHING about the car. I referred him to the board. It actually became an obsssesion. He was on it constantly. Had gotten away from it recently.
Yes, he will be sorely missed.

I hope that i did not upset her by posting. I felt that those here that knew him may need a little notice if they wanted to attend the memorial service. I know that i had to ask off work Saturday so that i can attend the service. It was a hard decision to post as i was told by someone else and i felt horrible calling Craig's phone to confirm the rumor I heard.

Re: We have lost a friend

My condolences to Sue and Craigs family.

I know what it feels like my dad passed away yesterday of a heart attack.

I'm flying back to England on Monday to help arrange the funeral. Sorry I will not be able to attend the memorial.

I felt horrible when I heard the news, I am the one that called Daniel and asked him if he heard. It was like the heart of this board got ripped out.

Very sad news indeed. My condolences to the family. I am on vacation and will not be able to make the funeral, if I was in town I would definitely be there.

Thanks to Mike for calling me and letting me know. I think we should have a memorial meet or run.

I agree.
I think Craig would like it if his last act on this board was to be the catalyst of a big meet, something he would be proud of.

I'm definitely in. Let's pick a date.

Re: We have lost a friend

On a side note:
I am going to organize a memorial/reunion meet in December at Bear Creek Park in Katy. We had the best turnout there. Plus, in December the weather will be better and more members will or should have their cars running by then.

Re: We have lost a friend

I've been on assignment in MI., since May, and just got this account
straightened up after changing the e-mail. I managed to catch Barry's
original post.

The first time I met him, I was impressed with his openness & personality,
as well as his "uniqueness". He always found time to answer any questions.

Ditto the loss everyone else has expressed, and condolences to his family.

Yea it sucks pretty bad........

Craig was a friend to us all.

I attended the funeral along with other members of our little group. He's still and probably will always be missed! Thanks for posting the pics, I'm going to copy and save those for sure.

Here is a pic where I won something. Note the extreme enthusiasm on Craig's part, LOL. He will be missed, was kind of the soul of the group.
