Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I woulda gone up there man. But I went to a party then I went to the hookah bar today. Plus it was honestly WAY to cold to be outside checking out peoples cars.

Maybe when the weather gets a tad warmer Id be down for sure.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Yeah...The weather was entirely too cold to come out and play...Plus I had to work outside in the weather the last 3 days, so the cozy house was a little more inviting than another day in the icebox...I still think that a gathering at the MDA Car Show would be a great place and time....March the weather is usually no where near as cold as this stuff, and everyone knows where that is at and can go around and look at the other cars there as well...Plus it benefits a good cause....There are also tons of other car clubs there as well, so if we have any type of administrative questions, we can ask....Just a suggestion really...In no way am I trying to tell anyone what to do....

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Ok.....I think the first cruze-in will be at River Ridge mall in Lynchburg the third saturday in march. I'm not sure but I will find out and post a time date and place to meet. I am not tring to make this a Lynchburg thing its just that I know what goes on around here.(Kinda)If we can all get together one time and keep in touch we can find out when and where shows or gatherings are going on in either location and maybe some other location.I.E Bedford, Danville or where ever.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I have seen alot of cars at River RIdge Mall...For the answer to the question of the MDA Car Show....It is the first weekend in March held every year at the Roanoke Civic Center....It benefits the Muscular Distrophy Association and includes a three area indoor car show....Also there is a car corral for cars for sale and a swap meet for all of those needed parts....I go every year with my wife and daughter and it is an awesome thing....

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

You buy the pipe and I can fab something up. but to do it right and get mandrel bent pipe is expensive. Then you get into Cats or no cats and to do it cheap you kinda limit the muffler selection. 3 inch is kinda tight unless you have some ungodly awsome engine 2 1/2 would be more than enough, more practical and less expensive.anyway you look at it no one around here has a mandrel pipe bender so you would have to buy a lot of angles and weld them together. you could go 2 1/2 backand come out from under the car with 3 inch and no one would know unless you told them

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

well im gona to be moving back to roanoke, and anywhere wit lik a 30 min drive owuld b fine, and is it possable to hav the pockets going outwards?

im still deciding bout the cats, im kind leaning towards no cats since its true dual, but actually i was told 3in when it wasnt true dual...so if i do 3in its gona be very loud isnt it? maybe i will do 2.5in. and my motor is gona be a beast...and mufflers...meh i can get some. and i can rent a mandrel pipe bender, or i now someone for sure who has one or nows someone who does. lets if i get just the pipes for headers back shouldnt be more then what 600?

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

You dont know anyone with a mandrel bender.....................they are extreamly expencive and Joe blow's exhaust shop down the street dosent have one and cant afford one. It would make thier exhaust systems cost too much for the average exhaust job. they would price themselves out of business. And there is not enought Performace customers around to keep them in business. If some one tell you they have one they dont know what a mandrel bender is or they are independantly wealthy and very generous

www.mufflex.com

Call them up. I know they have some pre fabbed exhaust for sale, and they might be able to help. They are real high quality so you pay $$$$...you also pay for the name too.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Sorry guys, I've been on the move for a few weeks. I had a bad experience with the military for the last time. Back on track for the time being.

I think the idea of meeting up at the MDA Car show in March is a great idea. So everyone, pull out the calender and and circle March 7, 2009. That is the second day of the car show. Now, if everyone wants to gather up and roll up to the show together, we need to select the meeting spot. A centralized location where we can all get to. I live out near Bedford. I know we have some guys over in Lynchburg, and we got some in around Roanoke. I've been hitting the people hard with Third Gens ( and a few Fourth Gens as well) about going. Where does everyone that wants to come live? I need to pick out a good meeting spot. If we go to the car show late in the day, we can pound on Williamson Rd after for a while. I'll be the first to say I will get a ticket out there, I always seem to.

I finally figured out what was wrong with the wifes Camaro... broken crankshaft. Hopefully, I can get it together so its first time out can be with all the Camaros and Firebirds. I have a proposal for everyone, but I want to discuss it in person with everyone.

So, if anyone wants to get together before March 7, put it out there and I'll try my best to make it. Want to get just a couple of us together, I'm game. I want to meet you guys and gals. I like to show off my ride, and I know y'all do too.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I'm in need of a posi unit for my Camaro. Anyone got that out there? I told the wife about the March 7th meet, she wanted to go out in the col last night and work on her ride.

I need to gauge the interest in a time for us going to the car show. I was thinkin early afternoon. around 1 or 2. What do you guys and gals think (My wife says I need to stop being so old school and leaving any female viewers out of it).

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Hey guys, I'm a good bit further south than Roanoke, usually takes me about 2hrs to get there from here, but I'd be down for a meeting sometime. During the summer, there are cruise in's at K-Mart in Christiansburg. Does anyone know if they still do the cruise in at Fast Freddy's on the main drag in Salem on Friday nights in the summer? I've got two 3rd gens that love road trips and I can usually find a reason to spend the day around Roanoke. *cough* HOOTERS *cough*

If you guys are planning on the car show on the 7th of March, I'd be up for that if I've found a job by then and can afford to have them both on the road. Think I'll let the old lady drive the T-top machine down and I'll bring the 84.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

Well, the last time I was in Salem, I saw they were tearing down the old Ingles behind Fast Freddy's, so I didn't know if they would still have the cruise ins or not.

I do remember seeing something about cruising down town in C-burg on one Sunday night a month during the summer. I can't remember if it was the 1st or last Sunday.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I think that Fast Freddy's has been tore down. I'm not too sure though.

Down by the Bedford Motel on 460 is a maroon colored Z28 with 305 TPI. 160k on the odometer. Asking price is 3200 bucks and looks like a pretty nice car. Just letting anyone that is interested in one that its there.

I also have found a few owners that don't have internet. A guy running around Bedford in a white V6 RS and and another stopped by the house after seeing mine sitting in the driveway asking if I want to sell mine. He had a teal 91 RS w/ L03. It was pretty beat down and unkept. I told him to join us on the 7th of March at the car show. I'm trying to find all I can that want to come hang out. Anyone got the trim at the bottom of the door for ground effects that is trying to get rid of so this guy can stop eye balling my car? 1brd, I'll be giving you a call to set up a time to come look at some parts for mine and the wifes. I'm definitly interested in most of the parts we talked about.

Hey darkMJ, where'd you moved back to? Last I heard, you were in Michigan, you move back to Roanoke already?

I'm currently working on a t-shirt design. I would like to put a few of y'alls cars in the design so if y'all can send me some pics of them, I'll draw them out and if y'all agree of a design, I can get them printed and give them out at another meeting.

Until then,

Ben

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I havent been to fast freddies in YEARS. When I went there, there were so many cops it just had a strange feeling to it. I never went back. I'd rather cruise wards road or williamson road.

Hell, I think I've even outgrown late night cruising for trouble

Elk Creek Drag Way is literally in my back yard, I can't afford to drive 3 hrs to get to Natural Bridge. Are there any F-body owners on here on the west side of Roanoke down twards Radford or Wytheville?

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I'm in the Chesapeake/Virginia Beach area. You guys should check out www.hrfbody.com, quite a few 3rd gens owners there and they all live in Va for the most part.

Re: Calling all VA third gen owners

I've been to Elk Creek once or twice. I usually go to New London or Natural Bridge though. I ran this past summer at Motor Mile Dragway and didn't like it.

I'll be givin you a holler 1brd about those parts when I can get a minute of quiet.

That guy needs the passenger door trim for the ground effects. The next time he stops by I'll let him know I found him one.

darkMJ, lookin forward to your return, you'll find some deals, but you have to get here first.
