My wife is from the Harrington and Hartly area. We go up there every now and then but we actually live in VA now.

Re: Delaware
Hey I noticed this thread hasn't seen any activity in sometime. I would like to ask the other member on this thread about how much hassel the dmv gives us with our cars. After dropping in a 350 and building a true dual exhaust I don't want the DMV being nitpicky and failing my ride.

Re: Delaware
I don't have my 3rd Gen done yet. I have had a lot of trouble with my 4th gen getting through DMV especially in Dover. I have no EGR or AIR and am cammed but have cats and I always had to go through 2x at Dover. now I go to Wilmington and drive right through, I have a 93 so I have to pass the dual RPM sniffer test. My friend Mike has a 91 and he has a HSR, heads, Cam, headers, 355 L98 and he get hassled all the time at Dover too. Another local guy was able to get his 86 Camaro (modded) through Dover as a Antique/Classic. I have 6 pre 1969 cars and have them all antique/classic so I never have to go to DMV again with them. Since you have a 86 you will need to pass the sniffer and they will look under the car for cats. They may look under the hood (they will open it) and usually they don't know what they are looking at. my 93 always passes visually, just getting the tune just right is a pain. Good Luck man. Alos look for First State Fbody Association on Facebook. The 2 guys I mentioned here are on there.

Re: Delaware
Hey thanks for the reply jay I really appreciate it. That was the answer I needed. So basically I can take it to wilmington or just get it registered as an antique. Id like to register it as an antique but I dont know how much they know about these cars and if it would qualify since its not original

Re: Delaware
I avoid dover's DMV at all costs really. They hassle you for everything, typically you can get right through easily. There are just a few not so smart employees there that thought my cat was missing when it was in the factory location and also tried to say the tinted section of my windshield was illegal.

The method of inspection here is a bit odd to me. Back home (North Carolina) you don't have to go to the DMV, local shops usually handle inspections

Re: Delaware
I just bought an 89 formula with 24 thousand on it. Wish I could find my 92 formula that I special ordered. It was a 5 speed with N10 exhaust red in color. I used to see it in the New Castle industrial park.
