Thanks! It wouldn't let me do Ship To Home, and stores around here don't have a lot of 5w-30 in stock, but it let me keep buying orders of 10 at a time from one store. We'll see how pissed they are when I go in to pick these up tomorrow.

Not how sure how many AZ stores you have around you, but the website let me "see stores with item" when it didn't have any at the store I had originally selected. You can then scroll through a list of stores close to the Zip Code you entered. Once you find a store that shows to have stock, you may have to play with Quantity numbers. If 2 red banners pop up saying to contact Customer Assistance, just change the Quantity ordered and click update and pick up at store until you no longer get those errors. Then just keep ordering that number on separate orders until you get the amount you want or until the website stops you. That's what I had to do (four orders of 10 qts each).

UPDATE 10:34 am one of the stores just called me and said it was a "sell through" item and they "JUST" sold out ...I said ok I want a raincheck he said no we aren't getting any of that item anymore.....totally sounded like bs - shady....so I told him boy that sure sounds like false advertising and he said he understood but there was nothing he could do . His store showed 10 bottles in stock - he said a guy came in and JUST bought them all - again sounded like BS to me ....so I have one store left - still haven't received my notification the order is ready for pickup from that store so there will more than likely be some BS story there too I am predicting.

UPDATE 12:02 pm my first order for 20 bottles I just got my email notification from the store its ready for pickup....I will BELIEVE it when I have it in hand $140 worth of oil for $21 .

Went to pick up my 40 qts today, they didn't have a single one. The mgr tried to refund the money (before I even got there!!! ) and couldn't so when I showed up, she found 10 qts of 10w30 and 13 qts of 5w30 at other stores. They are supposed to be shipping them to this store and we'll see what I get when I go there tomorrow afternoon.

Sure wish I was as lucky as you guys that got to do the Ship To Home option. Best of luck to those that got their orders in, hopefully you'll get what you ordered.

BTW I stopped by Advance Auto tonight and asked if they would price match the oil from AutoZone. He thought I was lying to him about AutoZone's price, it was funny. He also said they don't price match sale or clearance prices and that this is a discontinued/clearance product. oh well, if I get what I ordered, then I'll have gotten a great deal.

It says N/A when the store you selected has no stock available. Choose a different store. However, it may not matter, when I picked up all I could from my online order and was refunded the rest, they said the price was changed to 4.99/qt. But that store did have the 5qt of Mobil 1 5w20 for $5 and the High Mileage Mobil 1 5qt 5w20 for $10. I don't want 5e20 but I stopped by another AZ and they didn't have the same prices so I'm not sure if all of the prices are changing and some stores are quicker at the change than others.

I am just curious does anybody know anyone inside Autozone and to explain why they were selling synthetic oil for $1 a quart anyway ? This must have been a real pita for store employees etc to deal with ? Its looks like it was synblend first but then went into other brands and sizes and as we have seen then Walmart started price matching etc ??????? So whats the inside scoop ?

I put in 2 orders, first for 6 cases and a second for 4 more cases 30 minutes later or so.

No cancellation email here yet, better not either, it will be another reason I use Autozone for nothing other than when I cannot get it anywhere else lol

Sales like this happen a lot more often than you think, they have stock not moving it does them no good so they blow it all out and start over(they get ti write it off). Just most of the time the quantities aren't large enough to make it on the website and are more suited on a store by store basis or region.

Curious as to who's orders were cancelled and what time they ordered. Mine were in at least an hr before this went up here.

First order was placed around 12:30 the second order right after, after seeing how much money I had left in my account. I did receive my $20 dollar gift card yesterday,Im still not sure if one of the orders went through I have to check my email and I only got one cancellation notice.

I placed my order around 12-12:30pm on 12/21. I never did get to place a second order as they were already showing out of stock by the time I got around to it. I did get my gift card right before or right after Christmas. I don't remember the exact day.

Just got the cancellation email for my case I ordered.
They stated they will give me a $20 gift card which is worth more than the case I ordered.
I was able to order online and get some from my local store so still a good deal.

So I can give an update...

After much back and forth with AZ Customer service, I recieved an email from the local District Manager. They are willing to substitute the GTX Synblend with the new Castrol oil (still a synthetic blend) at the same price. The DM had the local store place an order for the qty of oil that I ordered. They will be adjusting the price to $1(minus the $20 gift card).
Very surprised that AZ made good on this issue. I will continue to use them for my maintenance needs.
