Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
Where is the life that used to be here? Where are people?
Its dying around here.
See new people every now and then, but what happened to all the regulars?
I know some of the folks that still lurk.
What happened to the get togethers, the dinners, track rentals(when it was affordable lol), meet ups at car shows.
Noticed MFBA is like a ghost town to anymore..............
How do we get people involved? Or do we have to wait for our cars to be worth money or something?

Blue Top in Highland, IN has opened back up with a new owner last summer and its pretty busy again on Fri and Sat nites.

All boards are dead, mfba, ls1tech, chitown racing, etc. It's all about fb groups now. I admin one of the top thirdgen ones on there. We're hopping.
Mfba rents cordova twice a year and road America as well. I am also in talks with new 41 owners for a late summer day also.

Wouldn't feel right naming where I spend alot of my time nowadays...
But let's face it, alot of people got out of this genre in general. So hard to make power without a transplant. Everybody is a sucker for a 4th Gen anyway...
I'm still trying to get rid of my newest iroc...

The FB groups are going strong. I find a lot of conversations on them link TGO conversations to them. Just not the Chit-Chat on any forum like it used to be.

Im getting some touch up paintwork on mine at the moment then I will be driving mine to work some next wk bar if it rains. Im also kind of keeping my eye open for an Iroc for my son. He's driving an 86 Monte Carlo at the moment which I may take back and build a 406 sleeper car out of. He has always wanted a blue Iroc with silver badges and im going to try to make that happen for him. Good to see a young kid interested in 3rd gens but im not surprised since he has watched his dad drive them all his life!

True story....Old friend back in 86 had a brand new 86 SS Monte. His father owned a Chevrolet Dealership in Atlanta. They order a GM Performance 454 and stuck it in there.

Come hell or high water this crap is happening.
Also, I've just been told that I will NOT be working in May.
See you all at the expo. I will be pushing hard to have my car at Road America's Rental. And if things go well there, I may put it on the dyno at the Expo to see what the AFR 195s do for me.

Ohhhhh shiny AFR'ers.

I spent the day on firewall duty, made awesome progress and amazed at how good its turning out.

It was this or A.I 200CC heads, however I would have had to wait a LONG time for those heads and I want to drive the car this year. Tired of it sitting.
The ported stockers are coming off and after getting checked out I'm selling them.

Took the heads out of box to look aat them. Fine QC work from AFR.
Won't hear back from AFR till tomorrow. Likely need to have the heads milled since waiting for replacement will take a while and throw off any scheduled work. The scuffs are deep enough to catch a finger nail. Same thing on the deck of every intake port.

I hate when you spend $$$$$ and you get something like that that you know left that way.

I'd demand they ship you a replacement head. Or sell you a new one, and refund your money for one head once they get your damaged one back. I've done that before when I'm on a tight timeline. I got a bad set of gears for my truck. Randy's Ring and Pinion send me a new set which I had to pay for, then refunded my money when they got the set I returned.

I haven't even talked to AFR yet, but I do find the scuff to be unacceptable, even if it turns out it was a "cosmetic" issue I'm not buying used heads, or open box heads. I paid good money for brand new castings.
