You know you drive a Thirdgen when......?

  1. It takes longer to roll up the windows than it does to reach 60mph from a stop.
  2. Your interior rattles more than a coffee can full of coins
  3. Its raining outside and you're just as wet as the guy who forgot to put the convertible top up.
  4. You've read all of the above, and just don't care.

1) Easy enough to fix, can prolly save all your original stuff after a thourough going thru and cleaning/lubing. just take a decent amount of time.
2) None of mine in particular rattle, I suggest hunting it down
3) You have aftermarket t-tops, there is no god who can help you
4) New cars just don't do it for me either, I can appreciate them, but its not the same.............

Well, I was just being facetious. The issues aren't that bad. New seals fixed the T-tops on the driver side, and would do the same to the passenger side if I bought them.

The windows? greasing the tracks would help, but what would really help is better power and ground wiring. Voltage drop in these cars is terrible. I think I only have 10.xV at the headlights when I have about 13 at the battery.

The Focus ST? It does it for me, such a blast to drive. Depending on the price of the RS, there may be a RS in my garage come the end of 2016.

Re: You know you drive a Thirdgen when......?

PS, I should also mention that the engine was holding a steady 19" of vacuum @ ~950rpm once it warmed up.

Awesome for that cam. The off idle power is plenty enough. Between 1000-1500rpm I have some bucking to work out, by 2000rpm it smooths out.

Being that it was just a once around the block *Yes, I ACTUALLY drove it*, it wasn't too bad. But I was trying to be nice so keeping the engine speed low to try to annoy the neighborhood less. Right now it can easily be heard idling 4 houses down. Got alot of compliments though. Can't wait to hear it with an exhaust.

Wrong wheel drive is never a substitute.

Doing donuts in reverse is just ethically and morally wrong.

I won't argue about the windows, you happen to have the link floating around for the relay setup? Was a good one I read, just can't seem to find it now. Honestly though if u haven't, its worth taking them apart and properly cleaning and lubing everything. You know how much crap builds up after 25+ years.

Although the GTA and TTA have good windows lol Formula sucks it.....

Re: You know you drive a Thirdgen when......?

1) I have a 305 tbi, even with the bouncing window (need to lube it up) its a close race between the window and the acceleration to 60mph
2) I got lucky my interior isn't full of baby rattles, headliner and sail panels are losing their grip though
3) I dont have t-tops and somehow Ive never gotten stuck in the rain being mostly a weekend car
4) surprisingly since owning the the car, recent years more offers and interest of it in general has gone up wasn't the same when I got it 13 years ago. Im just glad I didnt sell it when I was having money problems with the economy being crap a few years back.
