Car transport company recommendations

I need to move my car to a shop in Naperville that is a distributor/installer/tuner of holley efi systems. Since my car is not running right now I need to find a transporter to move it from Crete to Naperville. Its too short a drive for most big company movers and I don't want to use Jim Bob's wrecking either. They need a flatbed or trailer with winch setup. Any recommendations on who to use? Hate to have my nice new intercooler setup all banged up because the guy doesn't think he needs to use ramps.....

Thanks!

Do you have AAA? They would move it for you if you do.

Otherwise I would get quotes from any of the flatbed towing companies in the area. $1-3/mile seems to cover most areas.

Id rent an enclosed trailer and bring it myself if its not far. I HATE trusting other people with my car.

Re: Car transport company recommendations

Here's a hint I will share.

Go get a couple 2*12's make yourself some ramps with them and put 45's on the ends u drive up on.

It will save you much pain and frustration in the long run.

Re: Car transport company recommendations

How far does the car have to go to the shop?

I I get free towing with my car, but its limited mileage. I still ended up paying about $150 in towing charges to get it to the exhaust shop.

Re: Car transport company recommendations

It is going to the far west side of naperville from crete. Going to be 30+ miles. Its the insured and bonded thing I want to have covered. Currently its only insured for fire/theft and being a '92, not an antique so agreed value insurance is tough to make work. Looking for a reputable group to move it. On the way back with it back up and running I can load it myself on my buddies car trailer it just doesn't have a winch so not an option to get it there

Jeremy you are right on just making some ramps myself. I have a 10' 2x6 sitting in the garage I should just cut up.

Finish Line Performance. They are the closest Holley EFI distributor to me and they have been around for a while. We will see how it goes. I just really hate wiring........

Re: Car transport company recommendations

They seemed pretty on their game when I visited them and they definitely have built some incredible stuff. Hopefully it all works out and you will be seeing the car again at gatherings after 11 years of being moth balled
