Engine Masters destroys a 305

So, I liked this episode, I usually follow them because they do interesting things.

In this situation they took a JY 305 put decent heads on it, with a mild cam, and ran it to destruction with a 2 stage kit.

Started off at like 358hp, made like 55xhp on a 150 shot, and a little over 610 on a 250 shot.

On the 300 shot it said no likely. Entertaining all the same though.

Watched that episode too.
Despite destroying that engine, it certainly sparked my interest in using nitrous (again). Nothing like a couple hundred horsepower just waiting around.
I was hoping that the little engine would go out in a more dramatic fashion though.

I was hoping to see it spill its guts in a colossal way.

However, was impressed with regular output. But consider it had better flowing vortec heads, and zero accessories to drive. So very little in the way of restriction.

Even if they kept hitting it with the 250 shot I don't think it would have lived for long. Maybe less had there been a real load on the engine.

Probably would have done the 150 shot all day long though.

My fear is my hypereutectic pistons coming unglued much the same the 305's did. I've a NA build and as such, there isn't much room for nitrous.
Nice little 305 just the same.

305 can be made to run a lot better than people give them credit for.

More amazingly, check out what a few guys have done with an Olds 307, that's crazy!

The 305 issue is this, 350 has more cubes, parts are cheaper and at the end of the day will cost less to build and definitely make more power.

Also quick and easy to make a solid bottom end as well.
