Not on a SBC, but exhaust theory aside, its probably all pretty similar. If anything, the older Log Style manifolds we have on Thirdgens flows way worse than headers do, so the gains would be larger.

An interesting episode. You can see where the LT's gain the most in the mid-range.

i don't understand why they tested mid length headers with a 2 1/2" collector, then test a full length header with a 3" collector?
made the whole test useless.

(around 9:45 into the video).

They gave their reasons in the video, and to be honest I can't find fault with them. While thirdgen's have their 3" collector shorties out there. Not everything does. Its not like this is a Thirdgen specific video.

On an engine making 245hp I highly doubt a 2.5" 3" collector is going to make all that much difference anyways.

The length of the primary tube is what set the LT's apart from the others, thats where that mid-range bump came from, not the collector diameter.

I have more ground clearance with the Hooker LT's than I did with my Hooker shorties. Its kind of crazy.

And I can finally jack the car up from the passenger side now that the Y-pipe isn't in the way.

How about the other test they did that found that dented headers function just fine when compared to undented?
