2017 Trans Am Nationals

The 2017 show is solid on the date now, book your time aside for the last weekend in August to head to Dayton Ohio for the best all Firebird show there is, period. Bring your car or just come to admire and hang with great people and an all around fantastic time!!

Re: 2017 Trans Am Nationals

Your from Ontario.

You know this board is for NW IN/Chicago area?

I might go this year, was a regular at it for a few years before it moved locations. Nice place to be at on my birthday.

If i get the Formula done I will transform and roll out

Re: 2017 Trans Am Nationals

This is the nw IN/Chicago board???? Lol, kidding. I know.
I had sent a message to the administration asking if a board could be created with the other 3 show boards on here (3rd gen gathering, etc). I know the Trans Am Nationals is for all year 'birds, but it is very relevant to 3rd gens, they encompassed 1/4 of the gens. I didn't hear anything back so figured I'dd just post on regions that are within reasonable driving distances. Let folks know. You've been to this show before, you know how great it is. Just get the people out to experience it. And on here we can all get the 3rd gens representing in big numbers. I know alot of 3rd gens that do go are, or have been members on here, it can almost be a thirdgen.org gathering of sorts in the footnotes hahaha.
As you can attest, it is a fantastic show, the more the merrier. On their site the registration is open and hotels are now taking reservations.

Took vacation for my birthday.

Might poke around and see what's going on. Kids just start school then though.

Technically by virtue of production numbers Thirdgen's outshine all generations except the 2nd generation.

If you combine 2nd and 3rd gen production they probably make up almost 75% of all F-bodies ever produced.

Total productions # vary from different "Sources"

But IIRC it was like around 3 million third gens total produced from 82-92

Not sure about the Norwood plant, But I know for a fact that production started Nov 81 in Van Nuys. I know cause years ago I had a VERY early built 82 trans am come through my hands and it had the build date of NOV '81 !!!

And to this day, I TRULY regret selling that "Special" car

I just bought a 2018 Equinox :-) It's Oct. 2017.

"Traditional" model year changeover is usually in the summer down turn when most plants close from 2-4 weeks for maintenance and tooling for the new year. This can be lengthened time wise depending on if a completely new model is being produced or a new vehicle totally at an existing plant. It can also be moved forward it updates, tooling and machinery would push it late into a model year and it will get you a 2018 model in Jan 2017.

Now what was the last day of 2nd Gen. production and what was the first day of 3rd Gen. production?
