What's your quickest 60ft time on drag radials?
In an attempt to improve traction, I've installed the following components:
Jegster subframe connectors
Jegster rear trailing arms
Jegster torque arm
BFG Drag Radials (235/60/15)
My first trip to the track resulted in 60ft times ranging from 1.961-2.057. I was running 32 lbs pressure in the rear tires, launching between 3000-3500 RPM and feathering the gas pedal until the tires started to grab.
This past Saturday, I went back to the track and did a little better - 60ft times ranged from 1.915-1.950. I played with rear tire pressure, settling on 25 lbs, but I think the bulk of the improvement was a result of improved launch technique - launched at 1500-2000 RPM (still had to feather the gas pedal until tires started to grab).
I'm getting consistent runs of 13.0xx-13.1xx @ 106.5-107.5 MPH, which is driving me crazy - I'm so close to 12's I can taste it!
So I was wondering, what kind of 60ft times are you guys running on drag radials? Should I be content with my 1.9's? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to the track again this coming weekend - If I don't break into the 12's, I'm gonna break down and buy a set of slicks!

1.76 with BFGoodrich drag radials and a 2500 stall converter. no suspention mods.
drag radials should be enough for better 60fts than 1.9s... hell i was doing that on street tires (Michelin Pilots). there are Vette guys running 1.5 short times on drag radials

tpivette89 summed it up. you should be anywhere on average 1.6 to 1.8 60' times. lower your psi down to 18 - 20 psi.
trick to DR's is to super heat them up like slicks. if they are not super hot they will still spin pretty badly. i never ran the DR's but have ran 10.5 inch cheater slicks on my camaro and a set of wrinkle wall slicks on my 72 chevelle that had a 402 bb in it.
roast those babies and watch the 60's drop! launching at 1500 to 2000 rpm is too low on DR's especially with a high 12 sec low 13 sec car! you should be around 3000 to 3500 like you started.
drop the pressure and super heat'em!

I hit 1.65 a couple times in the TTA. That was when I was running the stock turbo, injectors, intercooler, exhaust, converter, etc. Only suspension mods were panhard rod and lower control arms and Nitto Drag Radials. I ran them at 22psi and did a 4-5 second burnout.
The body twists pretty good without SFCs at those launches

i need to buy some dr's and mount them on my old rims, and hopefully then i can see way better 60 foots and be more consistent.
for the Maryland guys, know any shops where i can buy drag radials to fit my stock rear 16 x 8 inch rims? i dont really want to order tires but i will if i need to.
i was thinking these:

I have gotten 1.8xx 60's anywhere with dragradials. And at a really sticky track I pulled a 1.69 and then a 1.61 with 245/50 R16 nittos at 12-14 psi.(cold) Subframes, KYB's set on loose, no swaybar, and control arms. Also have a 3200 coan. Before with a 2200 stall, no suspension mods and NOS on a 305 I pulled a 1.79 and my friend a 1.69 on the same tires.
Heat em up and remember that the psi is going to rise significantly when you do a good burnout. I always run mine around 15psi.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I need to do a burnout before each race. I haven't been doing so because it's a little tricky with a manual trans and no line lock. Guess I'd better practice!
I've been thinking of removing the front sway bar. Maybe that would help a little too.

Axle/Gears: 3.23's - 3.73's
1.707 best, consistent low to mid 1.7's - mostly stock suspension. I had: KYB's at all 4 corners, Eiabach Pro springs, SFC's, home made LCA's & PH rod w/ poly bushings, right rear air bag, poly tranny & TQ arm mounts. Tire size was P255/50-16 BFG Drag radials mounted on 16X8 ARE 205's.
This was with the old motor - a bolt on 87' L98 motor w/ a small cam & stock heads. Built 700R4 w/ a 3000 stall non-lock up & stock 3.23 gears.
I always went around the water, backed up into the edge of it, rolled out 5-6 feet. Then did my burnt out in 1st till about 4K, shifted 2nd and took it to 5K - 5500. This resulted in very consistent 60 ft. times as long as the weather was agreeable.
