Re: Help Me get my 60 ft. times down.. Suggestions
UPDATE:
Went to the track with new 4500 8" coan converter
car went NEW BEST!!!
1.571 60ft
7.389 1/8 @ 92.86 mph
11.587 1/4 @ 116.87
old best
1.739 60 ft
7.579 1/8 mile
11.808 1/4 @ 116.89
this thing hits the tires really hard!!!! compared to that 10' converter i hadtried leaving on the wood at 5100 rpm on the brake no traction lol resulted in a 2.57 60 foot time LMAO. next pass i came off the line at 3500 rpm resulting in a 1.597 60 foot. best 60 foot was launching at 3800 rpm on 26x11.5x16 et streets at 14 psi. didnt have a chance o try the new 28x10.5sx15 et drags . ran outta time. Car pulls both front tires off the line now shooting for 11.49 gonna need a 1.500 60ft time to get it
i will post video soon

What rpm are you going thru the traps at? Also, try staging at 2800-3000 rpm. With larger tires you will likely find that you'll need more gear but try it first. No reason you shouldn't be able to get it 60 in the 1.4x's with some work on the car itself.

Thinking about messing with front mounting location of my Umi crossmember mounted t/a . Right now it is at the upper of the two holes. I've read a couple places that lowering it allows tires to get hit harder and some say differently. My goal is a 11.49 pass with a 1.500 60'. What yall think I can do before next wedsday

to get infinite adjustability in lca angle, people are reverting to making the rear ride-height adjustable. i've heard 2* upward (from rear to body) is a great starting point. i'm planning on doing a set of Racecraft spring perches with adjustable ride height this winter, just for this type of fine tuning.

Re: Help Me get my 60 ft. times down.. Suggestions
Congrats on the new times. We all knew the car had that in it if you read back my posts.
If I could make a suggestion.
Leave the car alone. Don't touch anything. Take it out with a fresh, clear mind and try it again. You may get the car into the 11.40's the way it sits. You just need some additional track time. No one has ever maxed out there cars abilities in 1 track vist with a few passes. Trust me. Theres more in it.
This is how.
turn your 2 step launch point up to 4200 where it was previously slightly spinning. Work with that as your new launch point. Thats probably where your 1.49- 1.50 60ft is sitting. Once you can get the car to work at that RPM your almost garunteed some results. My advise would be to get in the burnout box and melt the tires till the rubbers falling off them. Let it fly at 4200 and post results. If that doesn't hook, than start figuring out what your suspension needs to make the 4200 launch hook.
On another note.... You should take the chip out of the 2 step and run the converter up on full throttle to see where it's lock up point is. You should always verify that the converter is hitting it's advertised number. And 4800 sounded better than 4500. JMPO

I really dont know where to go with suspension adjustment to getthe 4200 launch to work.Full throttle no chip on 2 step is 5000rpm flashes to 4700 while cruising. Of course it wouldn't hook. Or i can maybe say f*** it and try my 28x10.5 s m/t at the track see if I can get it to 60better..

5000 is good. You lucked out and they got it right. Doesn't always happen that way.
I'll bet you can get the 4200 to hook the way it sits with more burnout. Melt the tires.
If that doesn't work than these guys on here can suggest a lot of good suspension stuff to try. It's not my field. I re did all my suspension with pretty good stuff but never got to use it. A Roll bar, Torque arm, and lower control arms are a good start and a adjustable rear drag bar is a real nice piece.
But i'll bet the 11.40's are at that launch point and thats a good goal to work towards.

I would run 10-12 in my E.T. streets and melt them. That always gave me my best results. I've only been 1.52 though on bone stock suspension and tight *** converter.
