I justify the not shaving because I need ballast in the middle of the car. That and I have to shave everyday for work, so not shaving on the weekends is ok.

Matt, that car is moving son!! I enjoy watching you roll thru those gears man, just makes me think back when I put a T56 in my car. Should have stuck with it because it made the car more enjoyable.
On another note; the converter worked out just fine, but now I have a ton of blow by on cylinder # 7. After pulling the plug, it was so wet with oil it was pouring out of the plug. I knew something was wrong when the car only went 7.38 @ 96.17mph and with a 1.75 60ft. on 9lbs. of boost. I know when it happened too; It was when I installed the 3-bar map sensor in August and not knowing in EBL the MAP PW constant wasn't correct for the 3-bar MAP and this was after I made my first WOT pull. I looked at the data and said that's not right, and it was crazy lean. So now I'm down for the count.
At first, I was really upset wishing I had known about the tuning flaw prior to turning on the 3-bar map flag in EBL, then again their will always be risks when playing with our toys but at what cost is the question. I already knew I was playing with fire with high compression, so I also knew my tune had to be spot on. This is a major set back for me and I don't have that kind of money just laying around to build a new motor at the time. So the beast will be down until I can dig up the money for the repair. Still kinda upset about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know Frederick, Md. is like 18 miles down the road from Mason Dixon. That's where I grew up.
Anyway, I should have the motor out this weekend to take a better look at the damage that 3-bar map sensor fiasco caused!!!!!! I sure wished I knew about that before trying the 3-bar. Well I guess it was time for a rebuild anyway, after 10 years of beating on it.

was getting stuff out of my boxes here at the house to prepare for the new rear case to be here and decided to pull the pinion support out of the broken case....the pinion support crumbled as i pulled it apart....
i was counting on this piece still being good. i may be stuck at the moment.....running into a crossroads of "getting another to get me back together" and "getting the one i need for the 35 spline setup now"....

well, pieces started showing up this weekend.
i'd never seen the conversion bearings for a baby spool (28/31/33) in a big case, so i figured i'd share them too, lol.
workin hard, gotta get the pinion support and yoke ordered yet.

U need a 4 inch crank or better RHS 502 ci ls lol. I follow your car a bit, it helps me build mine. Like my car will be faster but I was going to use a ls1 oil pan but never thought of its limits. The bell housing, the trouble to have it in right. I know to knock my dowl pins out now lol. I would love to see u take this thing in the 8s

Re: Winter 2013/2014 drag race suspension overhaul!
today was not a work day, but i went down to where the car was for a baby shower so i figured i'd take a couple of pictures of what i accomplished yesterday since the sun went down on me before i could take pictures.
don't mind the lack of rear carpet or the scratches on the interior plastics as this thing is an ever going project. i'm going to try to either repaint my interior plastics, or come upon some decent black plastcis. also going to redo the rear carpet in ozite like we did my cousins car. next week i am going to make a dzus rail for the front of the hood, so hopefully that will tighten up the hood gap. i also have a handful of other small projects that need to get tied up to be ready for the MM meet on 4/13.

Have you ever done an analysis (like through a Pipe Max program or similar) to see if those collector/mufflers are the best length?

Re: Winter 2013/2014 drag race suspension overhaul!
the system pictured was slapped together based on best packaging. the new headers i'm building (outlined in this winter's update thread) are going to have primary and collector lengths that are tuned based on PipeMax.

I'll be interested to see how your headers and exhaust work out. (You may have to start a new thread though...)
