thanks when i get it all buffed out ill have to take pics with a real camera , even as good as the camera is on my phone it only picks up the black and blue in the paint from a distance
the car turns from black to purple to red to blue depending on the amount of light hitting hit

So far i did this. Working out minor issues and did some street tuning and enjoying the car. Have not made a great pass yet and found an issue with fuel pressure when attempting to dyno on high boost but it did go 8.86 at 160. Hope to see 8.5's once it hooks up on the new tires

As for myself, I'd like to put a 5.2x on the board in the 1/8th mile and run a 7.9x before the snow flies. fingers crossed!

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
i am new to this forum but I saw some posts regarding the rear of the car squatting. I have a 87 IROC with a 355 sbc moser 9" with 4.11 gears. The rear suspension has a spohn trans crossmember mounted torque arm, tubular LCA's and panhard bar. It has QAL 1 single adjustable coilover shocks. The car squats when leaving the starting line and the front tires come off the ground about 6". The 60ft is 1.52 ET 11.62 @ 115 mph. Is the rear squatting a problem that I need to address or should I not worry about it and leave it alone. I feel it should be ok as I have gone from running 12.2 down 11.62 and I haven't changed anything with the rear suspension just made changes to launch and shift rpms.

Are you running an ARB?
What rate springs in the rear and what are the shocks set at?
What setup do you have for the front suspension?
Welcome as well, a LOT of great people and information to be had on this board!

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
It squats evenly on both sides and yes I am running a spohn anti roll bar. I will have to check to see what spring rate I have and the shocks are set neutral. I haven't adjusted them to the + or - side. The front suspension is stock except for Lakewood drag struts.
Thanks for the response. My son and I are new to running a drag car although we have been around drag racing for sometime. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
Looks like our racing will be cut short for the year. A car was trying to cut across the hwy. Saturday night while we were returning home from the track. She ran through a stop and a yield sign before ending up in front of me doing about 65 mph. Even with trailer brakes there was no way to stop in time. I "T" -boned her in the passenger side. The car and trailer broke lose from the truck and after hitting us went about another 100 yards, ending up in a ditch.
We are all lucky to be alive.
The bad thing is she has no insurance and now my company is bulking on paying for my Race Car and Trailer. Apparently full coverage does not cover what it used too.
If you have any doubt guys check your policy so you don't wind up in the mess I am in .

Yes,
we were dam lucky. We will race another day, just sucks to go out like that. She was running great. 1- 6.0 index heads up win, 2 super comp wins, a runner up, and a 3rd in 7 races. Not bad for a new build and an old racer.
Good luck this weekend. Your car looks great.

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
Awesome. Ran A best ever n/a pass of 11.72 at 115 two passes before it ate the #7 exhaust valve in the burnout box. it was still running when i staged the car, but i knew it was hurt, so i just shut it off after i staged.
I am #4 in points with the renegade 11.50 index. I got a loaner car to close out the last few races, but i've still not sat in it, yet...
My brother donated a free 5.3 to get me back going, so i'm selling off all my sbc stuff.
We both want to see how much nitrous the 5.3 will hold... going to do a build thread here.

DAMN! !!! Wolfster, so sorry to hear that. ... the pictures are an awful testament to reality. So many people that are to busy doing anything & everything. ....EXCEPT their duties as they attempt to drive! I see it all to often ( Truck Driver ), & the Insurance. .... those thieves take your money for years on end, raise your rates because "someone else " doesn't have any and cost you more...then they tell you that your "full coverage policy " doesn't cover that, or that & this..... it's bullshit! Sorry for the profane language, just pisses me off to no end , when honest hard working people get screwed by the SYSTEM that they are forced to pay for & is supposed to protect them. .... and they CAN'T EVEN DO THAT!

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
It is an eye opening experience for sure. Check you policies guys. I found out the hard way my full coverage only covered the car and trailer for my liability. No un- insured motorist. Also found out it is not covered by the home owners either.
I found a place that will cover the car as long as it is not on the track. Of course they will not cover it till it is fix. lol

Sounds about right.
Can't expect a new company to pay, what the old company should have. ... at least you'll be covered the next time.

I'm redoing my car over the winter.
I'd really love to run in the 10s but the safety stuff to pass tech is killing me.
What's the interpretation on the roll bar vs roll cage if the floor/firewall is not altered ? Can I run 10.00 on a 6 point bar ?
Are swing out, or removable bars legal?

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
I dont know about bolted. Have to double check. Unibody cars are suppose to have 6x6 plates welded to floor for bars to weld to. Not sure if bolt is legal or not.
However with carpet interior whos gonna know?
And swingouts are allowed

"Unibody cars with stock floor and firewall
(wheeltubs permitted) may attach roll bar with 6-inch x 6-inch x
.125-inch steel plates on top and bottom of floor bolted together
with at least four 3/8-inch bolts and nuts, or weld main hoop to
rocker sill area with .125-inch reinforcing plates, with plates welded
completely. "
Maybe I'll get a roll bar and see if I can get it at least to pass tech for 10.99.

" All vehicles with OEM frame must have roll bar welded or bolted to
frame; installation of frame connectors on unibody cars does not
constitute a frame; therefore it is not necessary to have the roll bar
attached to the frame. Unibody cars with stock floor and firewall

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
I normally start the next years thread in the first week of January.
All tubes attached to the floor can be welded to those 6x6x1/8" plates. As seen in above pictures, they don't need to be exactly flat. Bend, heat, shape them around the floor panels for a solid place to weld the tubes and the tubes don't need to be in the exact center of the plates. Bolting the plates down always feels like a good idea until to try to find an area through the floor that's good enough to run bolts through.
As long as the floor and firewall have not been altered, a 6 point roll bar (1-3/4" tubes) is legal to 10.0 in the 1/4 mile. Swingout bars are legal. When you go to a full cage, the largest tube diameter required is 1-5/8" but then you're also adding in a lot more tubes. The tubes in my cage range from 1-1/4" to 1-5/8" depending on their location.

I don't mind the hoop and stuff behind me. But as it is I'm like physically up against the door sitting in the car. The side bar is going to really make the car uncomfortable.
Stock seats with SFI belts are ok to 10.0 right?

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
I again didn't make a pass this year in the 3rd gen, but my son used it as a backup a couple of times.
In the '57, I did achieve my goal (hopes), finishing first in season points in 2 classes, 2nd in 2 classes, and 5th in another.
I also ran the Vette in one class, but only made the top 20 in it (partially because I was running it and the '57 in separate classes on the same race nights, and when we got in the later rounds one race, they told me it was taking me too much time to get back after running one car to run the other class, so I had to choose which I was going to continue in - I chose the '57, and ended up winning the class that night).

Re: What are your goals for the 2015 racing season?
2015 goals for me are pretty big honestly. with our first child almost here (any day now) and still getting settled in our new home, i'm surprised we've been able to do any racing at all. anyway, a quick outline of what i'd like to do:
-lose an additional 100lbs from the car (total with driver, that's about 35lbs out of the driver's seat, 65lbs off the car) check
-work on 60' consistency, this car should wheelie pretty good once i get the shocks dialed incheck
-make 90% of the Pro Stick schedule fail, only made about 30% of the schedule
-win at minimum 1 round of every race i entercomplete failure, only made past 1 round of eliminations, and was because of a redlight
-9.99 glory pass with six speed, then back it back down to 10.2 since i don't have enough cage.9.974 and 9.993 final 2 passes of the year
